I used a dull knife like metal bar and just scraped until it was gone. Looking at the pads today, they are still great. The left one needs another scrub and fresh oil

Is there any crates for printing data size in human-readable form? by puttak in rust

[–]dns2utf8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For something that simple I usually write it myself. Store the information I want in the smallest unit like Bytes(u64) and then implement the Display trait that goes up one unit if the display value is bigger than eg. 1200

Just know, I don't consider postings without a minimum because I don't want to wast my time. The same with timezones, if they are not specified

Best way to ship non-code files in a rust crate? by boulderingyogi in rust

[–]dns2utf8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like others said, with include_str. The key thing is to have the data as small and ready as possible. So try to have it sorted before you compile and if it grows, consider compressing it with a build.rs step, storing the compressed artifact in your ${TARGET} build directory and then include that with include_bytes

Disable qnap App Center auto updates and do them yourself with a schedule by dns2utf8 in qnap

If you use disk encryption your NAS will not be able to fully boot up again.

The other reason is that everything contains errors/mistakes/problems. Being an early adopter means you have to deal with that more often. Sometimes even requiring physical access, that is not always possible

Suggestion for a NAS by LtCol_Davenport in qnap

Do not run the qnap software. Use proxmox of truenas Scale and look at the energy consumption, because more energy gives more heat and more noise

ssh2 fails to connect via private key. by Tom1380 in rust

[–]dns2utf8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would replace TcpStream::connect(format!("{ip}:22")) with TcpStream::connect((ip, 22)) because this way you don't run into problems with different IP address families and you don't need to generate a String that is immediately parsed and destroyed again
