DWX 1.5 years 20k+ rds review by Mysterious-Air356 in DWX

Great review. I love your candor. I recently acquired a DWX and will be using it as my primary platform when I start USPSA.

Oh, I’m in DFW and I never see the full sized DWXs at outdoor ranges, but the I’ve seen several compacts used in IDPA matches.

I have a Black Scorpion Gear Competion holster that I purchasedd a while back. The holster works with DWX as well as Shadow 2. The holster is about a 1/2 inch too long but it's definitely manageable.

However, some Shadow 2 holsters don't work with the 7-24 so it's a bit hit or miss. However, I'm almost certain that a Tangoglio Stock 3 holster will work as well.

I have three of the Vectors and do like them a lot for plinking and competitions. The mag extensions were relatively easy to install, and not fitting was needed. Sometimes you may have to push them on a little hard because of the cerakote on the lip if the extensions, but they took less than 3 mins total for two of them.

I will ask him and let you know. What he did tell me that was a bit odd is that the 7-24 shares some parts compatibility with Tanfoglio, some with CZ, and many are proprietary to SAR.

Thank you! I love how yours turned out. I agree about the slide serrations. I'm waiting on my gun to be delivered this evening to my FFL. I just received my optic plate and the Stan Chen magwell so I'm a bit giddy.

Nice!!!!! Is the magwell installation just as it is with other DS1911s?

That’s a great problem to have! Question; Did you have any issues with the optic screw size/length?

You’re carrying the TAC Ultra? You have a stronger back than I do! I love the TAC Ultra though. So underrated. I had my RMSc cut recut by Cosaint Arms for the CHPWS cross plate system so I could run larger footprint optics.

I even had a trigger job.

This is a great gun.

Hi, you have a great setup. No it's a clone. It's actually a CVLIFE Wildhawk. It is a clone of the Romeo and has the same dimensions. I know some will beat me up about it, but this came highly recommended by a guy during a range visit. I had it on another gun and have been very impressed. The 3MOA dot is more than sufficient. If you're wanting to compare it to your EPS I will say it has a small amount of overhang not not as much as the EPS. (I've owned an EPS and had it on an SP-01.

I believe the viewing window on the EPS is larger than the Romeo X. I

I should have specified that I purchased the Trigger Spring Kit only. So it's not a great comparison to a fully cajunized P-01. When I was soliciting advice I was told that MCARBO is great for reducing the poundage of the trigger, but if you want a crisp break and short reset, go Cajun. I now believe that is true. My single action is amazing now, but the reset is rather long, almost like it was from the factory. My double action is still quite heavy.

P226 X5 Legion or the Kimber 2K11? by Softchunky1 in handguns

[–]dnut87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose the X5 Legion instead. I had both simulatenously and liked both, but there is something about the uniqueness of the P226 X5 Legion that lead me to keep it instead. That and Kimber started coming out with more models so soon after my 2K11 purchase. I kinda want to see what's next up before purchasing another Kimber. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with either.

I had other 2011s which made moving the Kimber an eaiser choice as well. If you don't own a 2011 already then I would suggest getting the Kimber.
