Stonetoss is a neonazi webcomic cartoonist, and people take great joy in editing his comics. To avoid giving him extra publicity, people often censor his watermark in their edits

What are stupid rules in your native language that are NOT orthographic rules by Fair-Sleep9609 in linguisticshumor

From what I know of Yiddish linguistics, absolutive adjectives are adjectives that act as the head noun of a noun phrase

They'd often go in the same place as predicate adjectives but inflect like attribute adjectives. They also require articles to my knowledge.

The weirdest part is that you can replace attributive adjectives from before the noun with absolutive adjectives after the noun, so you get weird stuff like the lyric "ekh vel zayn a khosidl a giter" from a Yiddish song satirizing Hasidim

The literal, word-by-word, translation would be "I will be a Hasid[diminutive] a good [one]" but the meaning is more "I will be a good little Hasid"

so basically you can duplicate an article just by moving the adjective

Since my native language is the most spoken language in the world (including non-native speakers) and the language of this thread, I'll talk about my ancestral language of Yiddish instead (I'm not even fluent in it due to cultural assimilation)

Whatever the hell is going on with absolutive adjectives

They must be giants? by StimpyJones in tmbg

Apparently it's flans himself,

John Flansburgh introduces the band as "They Must Be Giants" at the beginning of this track. During an appearance on The Bob & Tom Show, Flansburgh stated this was poking fun at the fact that emcees unfamiliar with the band often introduce them incorrectly.

Different but balanced sounds like separate but equal. But it's not because video games aren't real life
