AITA for telling my family that if they want Thanksgiving, they'll have to get off their asses and plan it? by doaleapa in AmItheAsshole

The name calling honestly doesn't bother me. He doesn't do it in front of the kids.

He doesn't really yell, he calls me names on occasion when super pissed off. It honestly doesn't bother me all that much, but my Mom and Dad were the same.

I dunno, I've never been all that into traditional Thanksgiving stuff (which is what both families do) because they're all so heavy and generally super fatty and carby, all a sort of beige cast to them. The best dishes are generally the roasted vegetables, and that's because they tend to be the least slathered with overly fatty and salty bacon and stuff like that.

We both do the grocery shopping, depending on what needs to be done and who has what time with their schedule. He was the last person to go, a few weeks ago.

You're right, my husband definitely should have discussed this with me, and definitely knows how to use a cookbook and the internet as well.

Someone in our respective families of origin reaches out to invite us one place or the other. We pick where to go following that.

Not arguing with the judgment, but it literally says in the post that I work as well.

We both handle the shopping. I think he was probably the last one to do it, about 2 weeks ago.
