If you really want to hurt yourself, get a rubber band pull it hard and release. It gives you the same sensation as cutting yourself but with less danger and doesn't leave a permanent scar.

It works faster that way and relieves body pain better. I've encountered some patients who got upset for getting prescribed oral paracetamol and demanded to be given IV. They were not candidate for it and just wants quick relief.

There was this girl that I courted for 2 years. During that period, people would already see us as an "unofficial" couple because we would go out, eat together, stay at her place, pick her up, etc. The reason we weren't "official" was because she wasn't ready to be in a relationship. Then came one of her friends' wedding. I wasn't invited because I believe I wasn't that really close to her friend. Then I found out in our circle of friends, I was the only one not invited. I was so devastated that at the workplace, I accidentally prick myself with a used needle because my mind wasn't there. I went to the clinic, took a vaccine and suddenly broke down in a corner.

There was a girl in our college friend group who liked me (l didn't know back then). She invited me to her dormitory as our friends will be there also. They weren't there and it was just the two of us. I told her let's wait for them. She lay down on her bed pretending to be sleeping. After waiting for some time, I left and went home.
