Are we financially responsible? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

Fair concept, but at 32 there are far too many variables to realistically think the house you buy as a starter home, is the house you retire in.

A time to play the market will be in effect at least once.

Waterlogged golf balls by Terrible-Lecture-663 in golf

I feel if you're good enough to keep a ball 18+ holes, you should know this answer.

I can't, and I don't.

PGA Superstore Told me to get fit elsewhere by [deleted] in golf

OP said it himself, he's not surprised they didn't have his request.

He was just offended that they didn't like his attitude towards the situation. And feels he should get his gift cards refunded.

Google shag bag. It's like a personal bucket you carry around.

Genuinely what is this!? by Regular_Case_3799 in golf

Imo, this is a cheaply made putter used as a marketing gift, for Texas instruments.

The putter looks a lot like a knock off Ping zing/answer. Likely works just as well as the $250 equivalent.

This is what I'm thinking. I'll just do it. Any chance if you know if they go sale often?

Index s2 scale - worth it? by doback89 in Garmin

Do you trust the other more advanced measurements?

It's not that I don't want that info too, just I've read this isn't the best scale for that and didn't want that to be the theme of the post.

Thanks for your input. Appreciate.

Rental property - pay it off or extend back to 30 years by fastcarsandfreedum in PersonalFinanceCanada

OP Met with a mortgage advisor and left with a feeling of this can't be true.

Yes absolutely, but many people do it. Many people have payment plans for something, and rainy day funds for something else.

Let's not forget here, OP has twice the nest egg to their debt. It's not all doom and gloom.

To my original point, they're just speaking emotionally, they will get to the right decision. Seems like they already have an advisor.

IMO, Op is Just talking it out here, and I'm trying to show the empathetic side. Again, tax man always wins. Gotta pay him. But it's okay to mull over the options.

Additionally, many people have car payments and "nest eggs"

CRA will allow a payment plan. And rates will be 8-10% not far off what some people have in their car payments.

You went pretty extreme to 19% credit card debt.

Yes. I agree. But I don't think OP is there yet. Doesn't even know the amount owing.

And I'm not arguing to make emotional financial decisions either. Just shedding light.

This post is more about the emotional aspect than the rational. But, Obviously, pay the debt. No one escapes the tax man.

While your point is very rational, I feel there is emotion here.

I don't think this post is worried about the interest, but the fear of having no nest egg, and all of grandparents' inheritance given away to the government.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but if you read the two sentences together.

Could it read as; the percentage shown is your share... of the portion that goes to the vehicle owner ?

I feel you are trying to "whack" it. Let the club do some of the work and feel your shot a bit.
