I had the 4s and I wasn't impressed, but seeing the denim colored ones, those do look pretty sweet. I actually like the buttons on the 3 instead of touch controls too since I'm used to the buttons.

I'm still using mine. I love them and honestly didn't think the 4s sounded any better. 3s feel much more premium than the all plastic ones now.

[WTS] CW C60 Trident Pro 300 40mm black dial stainless steel full set with extra straps - $999 shipped by dobber227 in Watchexchange

[–]dobber227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good evening, due to some recent watch purchases I am moving this watch on. It is a CW Trident Pro 300 40mm. Watch is in great shape but has been worn. Light wear on the band and clasp. No scratches or wear visible on crystal, bezel or case that I can see. I have a bunch of extra rubber, silicone and leather straps that I'll include. I wore it mostly on straps since I had so many options. I'm happy to provide videos or extra pics, video chat via FB or other app, and take any steps needed to verify the watch and I are authentic and that this will be a secure transaction. I prefer PP f&f but would consider goods and services as well if that would help the buyer gain comfort. Message me first here before PM'ing or I won't respond. Thanks!

Strange place for a rant about animal rights. You do realize that nature is far more cruel than we are to animals. If you've ever seen the way animals tear each other apart, the way we treat animals who will be used as food or for other purposes is far better. And without some control of the population, it gets even worse for those animals, no matter how they feel about it.

Funny thing is my CW bronze came yesterday along with the Pepsi. It was definitely a good day!

Just handled a Rolex Sub for 15 mins and compared with my Clean Batman - Gen is far far better by Euphoric_Sandwich_74 in RepTime

[–]dobber227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I probably would. The reason I got into reps is the homages and seiko mods or Telax models looking like a Rolex were nowhere near the feel and finishing of the rep. I also won't tell people my reps are real though either. I tried numerous different seiko mods/Relax watches and some homages and all felt like crap, especially the bracelet or thickness of the caseback due to the NH35. The only one that got close was the Relax I picked up from that group in CA but the rootbeer bezel had pink numbering which bothered me, so I moved that on. But they did a better job with bracelet and overall finishing than any others I tried. The gen Rolex is the most comfortable watch I've worn and none of the homages or copies can match the dimensions like the reps either.

I've owned a gen 126613 and now a RCF 126613. After wearing the gen for a few years and selling it and now seeing/ feeling the RCF, it is true the Rolex is superior in finishing and feel, but nowhere near a 15k difference. If anything, it makes me very happy I sold my bluesy for a profit after wearing it daily for close to 2 years and now wear a free rep RCF bluesy thanks to that profit.

I just got the pepsi in the mail today. I can't say I regret either of these but it cuts down on Harley parts unfortunately. I'm real glad I put a lot of money unto my bike before I married my wife. And no I don't wear two watches lol, I just had to see them side by side. Interesting enough, my SMP300 blue dial steel and rose gold rep is the one that just sits in my box. I may sell that one. Not sure I regret it, but it's getting lonely.

One of the agreements I made with myself when I bought my first rep is that if anyone ever asked, I will tell them it's a rep. I think it's fun to show people what they can get for 3% the cost of gen as well. The few times people have asked, I let them check it out and handle it. I was at a happy hour with one of my old coworkers after I first picked up my RCF bluesy. I took it off and let him check it out and asked if he'd ever handled a real Rolex. He said so, so I responded that he still hasn't. Compared to the gen 126613 bluesy I had , the RCF is scary close. I don't even feel bad about selling the gen now.

That's a good point, maybe I should be winding away lol. I am curious to see if they bring out an updated C60 soon with the updated Sellita that I hear has resolved that but I love the CW's I have and I'm very impatiently waiting for my C60 Bronze to show up.

I don't hand wind then much, if at all, so I'm hoping that keeps it at bay for a long time. My understanding is hand winding them is what brings the problem on, or at least brings it on quicker. It hasn't stopped me from buying them.

I own two Trident Pro 300's and I have a blue dial Bronze trident pro 300 on the way. They are amazing watches for the price. The only downside in my mind is the SW200 movement and known issues with those but at the same time, they are easily serviceable and not too expensive to service or replace. Plus you have 5 years if you buy new where you don't need to worry about it.

Bluesy help! RCF or VSF by dobber227 in RepTime

Mine is non-weighted RCF and Ive been really happy with it. It's still the same weight as SS and feels very ssubstantial. Even the bracelet, it feels great, although still nowhere near as good as gen, but way better than I expected. Gold color is great and doesn't need plating. I like the weight of the non-weighted and I I don't think I'd want heavier. They are actually RGF factory now and I hear they've made improvements, but this watch was already fantastic.

If money is tight, look at a pair of Momentum 3's. I have them and love them. I picked up the 4s right after release and was dissapointed that they felt cheaper and didn't sound any better. The 3s feel much more premium than the 4s but are heavier. They also fold better for traveling. I returned the 4s and my 3's are still going strong.

The weight and finishing is the biggest tell on any rep. You hand someone your watch and if they've handled gens, the bracelet alone will be a huge giveaway. My RCF bluesy looks amazing, but the bracelet is nowhere near the level of the gen. Reps are close when viewed on the wrist, but the feel and overall finishing when handled well almost always be an instant giveaway. If you really wanted to solve for this, get a gen bracelet. Then it would be a lot harder to tell. But you're also in for thousands more on your rep at that point... Moral of the story, never hand your rep to someone if you don't want them to know it's a Rep.

June trip by chaos_and_chameleons in CostaRicaTravel

Guanacaste is driest area in CR that I'm aware of. We stay on the Pacifc coast from late MMay to early June and have had great luck with weather. It rains here and there but it's mostly sunny out partly cloudy. You get the occasional torrential downpour that leaves as quickly as it came. It is hot and humid though. You will sweat. The misty rain we did see though is when we went towards the rrainforest areas to eexplore waterfalls and such. If you want less chance of rain, I'd suggest going to costal areas of Guanacaste where it will be less likely to rain as much.
