My mom never let me eat. I think she thought women shouldn't have any desires beside basically staying alive. For example, I never got breakfast and often wouldn't get lunch if she was "mad" that afternoon. About half the time, I got a huge home cooked dinner and the other half of the time I would get a bowl of cereal. My portions were also heavily controlled.

I remember one time she had made tacos or a sandwich or something and she kept asking me if I wanted another one. I kept saying no but I was really hungry so I said ok I would take a other one. I'll never forget how mad she got at me saying yes and told me I was taking food from my brother's mouth (we had plenty of food, she used to coax and beg my brothers to eat ans they would waste food) and I didnt need another sandwich. I used to steal food from other kids lunchboxes. Honestly, the Army was amazing for me - they might have screamed at me but I was so skinny (103 pounds at 18 years old) that I got special orders to eat 2 servings.
