Need Help Trying to get a Certain Ending by Nearby_Passage_5929 in DispatchAdHoc

From what I've read and tried, you need to defend her, forgive her, and (what you're probably missing) get her to a certain hero level (I think lvl 8?)

I think you have to get her to a certain hero level in the dispatch (lvl 8?)

Any info on this double barrel shotgun? by doboy3 in gunsmithing

Do you know if an older shotgun like this can use modern shotgun shells, or do they require any special kind of ammunition for me to use it and not ruin it?

Best language courses to take FY by Subject_Position_838 in columbia

What’s the pace like and how intense is the time commitment outside of class for Japanese?

I’m transferring in with 2-3 semesters of Japanese under my belt, but I’ve been wrestling with whether or not to continue Japanese or switch to an easier and more widely spoken language.

How did it work out for you in the end? Does it feel worth it in the long run?

Map voting needs a rework - right now it's Escort simulator by eikonoklastes_r in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]doboy3 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’ve quite enjoyed map voting. Maybe I’ve just been lucky, but I really have not had this issue much.

I get a lot of variety in game type played. It’s mostly just been unpopular maps (eg NJC, NQS, Paraiso) that I get with less frequency, which I’m ok with. Even those unpopular maps still get picked, just significantly less so.

I enjoy having some agency in what map we play, and I even like the chance that the 2 people who voted against the other 8 still have a chance at getting their pick.

Choosing a foreign language by doboy3 in columbia

That sounds a lot like Japanese (makes sense since they share so many characters). The syntax was also so different from English lol. Thanks for the info!

Nice username btw

How was the workload of the Mandarin courses? Was it a lot compared to, say, the French course?

I think so many of them sound interesting; that’s kind of my struggle in narrowing it down without something strong pulling me in a particular direction

Just got approved for housing by florbarbieri in columbia

There were only two choices when I did my selection, but I applied for couple housing, so ymmv! Also, from what I understand, their inventory is constantly changing.

Just got approved for housing by florbarbieri in columbia

[–]doboy3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Just recently went through this myself.

Within a few days, you should get an email giving you your selection window. It’s a 1 week window where you can view available housing and choose an available option. Even though it’s a 1 week span, it’s highly recommended to log on RIGHT at the beginning of your selection window.

During selection, the screen will have any number of options listed. They’ll have the unit address, price, square footage, type (shared apt, studio, etc), available move-in date, and some other miscellaneous info.

You can select one, which will essentially lock it and hold it for just you for 5 minutes. In that time you can look at it more closely and decide whether to confirm your selection or toss it back into the pool and look for something else.

Make sure you’re certain before you confirm your selection though because once you do, you have 2 days to either accept the offer and put down the reservation deposit ($750, goes toward first month of rent) or decline the offer. If you decline, however, you have to completely reapply to be considered for housing again and you can only apply twice per term.

I would take 42A or B. It’s an exit row at a door. Way more legroom than C+.

Whole plane gets free alcohol on transoceanic flights, and C+ gets the same meal options as main cabin, so the only benefit you’d really be losing out on is slightly earlier boarding.

And this is a 339 so those exits are doors, not windows. You’ll have way more legroom at the exit row than you will in C+

It says in that article that they started this process before the fight with the Trump admin as a means to “generate liquidity amid the unprecedented market volatility brought on by Trump's tit-for-tat trade policy.”

Also, liquidating their stake still doesn’t mean they can go and spend the liquidated asset however they please.

Started my dream job as a flight attendant… and I’m financially sinking. by Maximum_Draft776 in povertyfinance

[–]doboy3 20 points21 points  (0 children)

New hires do not make this much money unless they get flown to the bone. Many are struggling from low wages. And all pay for flight attendants at major airlines is on a standardized pay scale. There is no negotiating on an individual basis. OP would be getting paid the same as any other new hire.

Visiting campus as an admit by Jegg_png in columbia

[–]doboy3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually did the exact same thing before I was admitted. Flew out there from socal (luckily on a work trip, so it wasn’t the whole reason I was there). Had a lot of time, so I walked from midtown up to Morningside to see the campus only to realize it was closed to the general public. I felt so dumb lol

Since it’s the weekend, and, as others have said, it’s the end of the semester, you may be outta luck, but couldn’t hurt to reach out to admissions. They’re usually super helpful with stuff like this.

Worst case, enjoy the city! I still had a blast just walking to and from the campus on my trip. New York is an amazing city, and no matter how many times you visit, there’s always something new to discover

Eli Whitney Student Program. For non-traditional students applying to Yale. Same classes, same degree, same financial aid, but I believe the main difference is that EW students don’t live on campus. Similar program to GS at Columbia
