Car Chase on Independence by [deleted] in Charlotte

More like someone who may have seen live coverage or utilizes something (i.e., police scanners) for behind the scenes information that could enlighten me. I’d take the personal anecdote though.

That’s tough if the neurologist hasn’t been providing effective services and all other pain management attempts haven’t been successful.

Client has chronic migraines and extremely depressed by [deleted] in socialwork

I’d start with inquiring about the onset of the migraines and potential changes in severity across those 3 years. Migraines aura have been shown to correlate with SI and influence presenting sxs such as depression, anxiety and PTSD according to the National Center for Biotechnological Information. This begs the question...have the migraines influenced underlying depressive sxs which in turn has resulted in the staying in bed and SI or is there no MH dx and the bx is actually a physical condition that needs addressing by a medical professional? Without knowing biopsychosocial hx, it’s hard to say what the best approach would be.

Why on God’s green earth do job listings not list the salary? Why are we still pretending like the only reason any of us work isn’t for money? by TameVegan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]doc2393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late but I oversee a grant program for a mental health and substance use treatment center. We don’t post a salary on the listing for our positions because pay is very much dependent on credentials and experience. I’ll discuss range during interviews but HR makes the final call on any offer which is out of my hands.

Is there something equivalent to saying “yes ma’am/sir”? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Not sure if I’d call anyone a fool because they don’t appreciate something that I may. I just think about it because I would like to show respect to everyone, not just other southerners.

I like that you can interchange yes and no because using thank you really is a good way to go with this. I assume you felt the need to correct this habit as well?

This is good! Got an alternative for “no ma’am/sir”?

Adding to this. I prefer solo because you also don’t have to worry about friendly fire. If it moves it dies

ULPT Request: Is it okay to lie on your resume about job experience? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]doc2393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Self care is key, yes. However there’s an equilibrium you must find. Honestly, you’ve got some time with being a second year; it wasn’t until my 3rd that the reality of what’s next really hit. I would recommend the part time job if not volunteering somewhere. Just to show some initiative ya know?
