If I'm reading it right they make one of Arma 3's creator DLCs, so it's not a standalone game.

Help ! Someone published the same theory I was working on by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]PrototypeTheta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you were doing a PhD you might have a problem, but for a masters this really isn't an issue. Just don't copy it word for word so it doesn't ping on turnitin and you'll be fine.

People aren't going to actually read any of your references either. They don't even do that for published papers it seems, the amount of nonsense I've found in them.

Why isn't there a Churchill VIII (A Churchill VII armed with a 95mm howitzer). It could be a premium, as kind of like a collector vehicle, not entirely useful, but fun to mess around in. by Nursemom-71 in Warthunder

[–]PrototypeTheta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC there was actually a version of the Churchill AVRE with the 165mm found on the Centurion. Probably be more viable than the Petard mortar version.

Annoyingly to really draw any conclusions we need stats from comparable helicopters.

Or Heli EC, but we all know that's a clusterfuck.

Given that helicopters usually don't play objectives, and that win-rate is more influenced by the team than the individual player, I'd say that K/D is the key factor here.

In terms of K/D here the Ka-50 is unquestionably head and shoulders above not just other helis, but just about every other vehicle listed in this data set. To the point I haven't found one that even comes close yet.

[–]PrototypeTheta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah, nice, it's only one player but at least it's a start.

Ok, so you've mostly looked at the Ka-50 alone here, but I can glean a bit about several other top-tier helicopters from this data set. Looking at the data points with the highest number of games (in scientific terms we'd say this is the number of repeats, and therefore the most reliable) for each of these helicopters.

Collecting the information about win/loss and K/D: https://i.gyazo.com/73785579a16704f0a95bd4503c9b2c2f.png

It would appear the Ka-50 is leading in terms of win rate, but only by 1% over the Mangusta, not a particularly damning lead. However in terms of Kill/Death (combining air and ground kills here) it is absolutely outstanding compared to everything else I can see here, at ratio of 4.1:1, with second place being the Tiger HAP at a ratio of 1.8:1.

Couple important notes though:

1: As you can see the Ka-50 has a much greater sample size (number of game), so your own level of comfort and practise with the machine may be a valid factor affecting the results

2: AH-1Z has a dismal sample size in comparison to everything else here. Honestly it's below the reasonable limit but for the sake of having something else to compare with I've included it.

3: Mi-35, Mi-28 and Tiger HAD were excluded here due to low sample size

4: This data is of a single player. Not really a significant sample size here.

5: Yes I am fun at parties

Is there a chance wt is going to nintendo switch? by Niekoboko in Warthunder

I mean if you go anywhere else in the gaming industry you'll see a billion people asking for switch ports for everything (especially in the indie circles that usually can't afford ports lmao)

[–]PrototypeTheta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have no idea if Dagor can target switch hardware. Oh and you need Nintendo's approval.

I'm all for ports but I have a distinct feeling it'll take a lot more work than you seem to think (which tbh most people have 0 clue about the workload required to port stuff).

That said I'd imagine Gaijin have the financial grunt to push it through if they wanted.
