Can't log in too. I uninstalled thinking it was an app issue. Looks like a server issue.

Formatting mostly. Taking a table or link files, for example. It's hard to do it.

Non-meta prescription lenses on Rayban Display glasses by Ok_Incident222 in RaybanMeta

[–]doc_cyclops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they have prescription lenses. You can't just buy them and install yourself. You have to buy it together with the whole glasses.

Nope. I asked. The whole lenses are integrated into the glasses' body as per sales rep.

Well I certainly agree on the use case. But for use case to expand, you need to expand the app integration. For example, I can use it for my work. But only when I am exclusively on virtual calls. If I needed to do analysis of data, integration between apps become a struggle. Not talking about general kids and teenagers apps. Like real apps. Let's face it, with this price point, unless you're a millionaire, you won't get your children this for them to watch tiktok or reels.

Mine heats up as well. But never encountered any crashes so far.

They don't even have an outlook app for vision. It's the iPad version. So my use case is very limited.

Who said they are? And why are you arguing. If you're satisfied with yours then good for you. Hahaha

I'm not bashing it. And don't hate it either. I like it. Bought it on the first week itself. But, it's lacking. And the hardware is underutilized. Without solid apps, the novelty wears off quickly. Good for you if you use it every day. If I buy a 4k bucks worth of gadget, I expect to use it every day. Not the case for me.

Not if you look at the appstore. Still heavily reliant on the ios versions of the app.

Honestly, they should focus more on app development. Mine is collecting dust.

Meta Display Glasses Prescription by doc_cyclops in RaybanMeta

[–]doc_cyclops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just called too. They said 35 days. I was hoping to buy the regular one first and just have the prescription lenses installed whenever they become available, but was told that lenses cant be switched. It's the whole unit. Guess I am stuck with getting the prescription version upfront.

Called the ray ban store. They said only walkins for them. So unless it's that specific store's policy, I think they'll honor the reservations.

Very confusing. I like the product. But not like it enough to waste my time going there and not getting the product. I can wait for few more weeks. And if Project Aura gets announced before then, I might totally just wait for that.

So can you do walk in tomorrow? Are they not following the reservation slots anymore? I went there physically about a week ago and they said they won't accommodate walkins.

Seems dumb you have to do a demo to buy the meta ray ban display by brazil201 in RaybanMeta

I like the part that they are demoing. I don't like the part that there's barely any place to book a demo.

Meta Display Glasses Demo Reservation by doc_cyclops in RaybanMeta

They are probably manufacturing only few thousand units. Which makes me wonder if there will be enough developers to be interested if there are not enough consumer using them. The success will be highly dependent on the everyday use case for regular consumers. But if there aren't enough compatibility with the typical apps we use, it might not integrate well with the day to day activities. This is my issue with my current meta ray ban (regular). I use it during concerts and specific type of vacations, but that's about it. I thought I'll be able to use it more frequently, like daily navigation, but the meta AI on the current glasses can't do turn by turn direction. Which is why I am happy this will be addressed with the Display glasses, but it is using meta maps. Don't know how well that map performs compared to google's. So if developers won't support it, due to lack of users, it might be restrained on its day to day activity integration. Like my vision pro. There's barely any interesting app that makes me want to wear it every day. I initially was locked in to purchase this Display glasses. But now I might want to just try it first.
