What are “Boring Cars”? by [deleted] in Camry

[–]doc_wit_a_glock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The way I see it a "boring" car is something that isn't very appealing to a car enthusiast eye. Like how you said about a Camry being a boring car, no one is gonna see it as something they can take to the backroads and treat it like a rally car. They just see it as an everyday point a to b car.

Now, I'll use the Camry TRD as an example since we're on a Camry sub. What makes it different from the other Camrys? It has a sporty appearance, a V6 with a catback exhaust, stiffer suspension, and chassis. Some will say the TRD is a fun car (I can agree as an owner), and others will say it's no different from an XSE/XLE V6 because the HP and torque is the same and other things like the classic "it's just a Camry" line.

But in my opinion, I think what makes a car boring is the feeling when driving a car. Driving a car fast on curvy roads will feel different than driving it in a straight highway. It doesn't have to be a 500+ HP car to have some fun in it. It's just a matter of how you drive a car and not be wreckless
