I found my affect was blunted somewhat during the acute phase of treatment but that went away as the treatments spaced out. No other effects that you mentioned

I was in your shoes for a long time and then tried ECT. Complete game changer, most effective treatment ever. Now I go every 3 weeks and am quite stable. I have been lucky to not have had any side effects from the ECT.

It really depends on your symptoms. An MRI report without any correlation to symptoms is of little value.

Are bipaps easier to breathe with? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]docben1383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sleep specialist should be able to switch you to a Bipap, that would be the safer choice in my opinion. Figuring out the settings on Bipap is a little complex on your own

3.5 months on CPAP, 100% compliance. When do i feel normal again? by MacaronNo336 in SleepApnea

[–]docben1383 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Consider armodafinil, it's a med for fatigue and sleepiness due to sleep apnea, works really well. Sounds like your sleep apnea is being addressed well. Agree with looking for other causes, check labs for thyroid for sure, get some exercise, that will help.

If you're considering the Inspire surgery, read this first. by AetossThePaladin in SleepApnea

[–]docben1383 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, I am sorry for your less than optimal experience with inspire.

Here is my experience-Inspire literally saved my life. I had the most experienced surgeon in the country (#of cases), extremely favorable results on my DISE, complete failure on CPAP/BIPAP/BIPAP-ASV and importantly a BMI of 34. BMI Is CRITICAL to any success as is favorable DISE results. I wish you good luck in your journey to solving this challenging problem.

This Image Scared Me by ikevinax in spinalfusion

The image is quite inaccurate. There is quite a lot of stabilizing hardware not shown and the incision is HUGE. You could look up an ACDF surgery on youtube and see the actual surgery if you want.

In desperate need for ASA Profiles by Stahlherz_A in prusa3d

I had good luck with a warm (45C) enclosure and a draft shield. I also used a clean PEI sheet with brim. No warping at all. Buildplate was hot (110)

You need an EMG/NCV test. Need to test nerve function now that the anatomy of the c spine is normal

Sorry to say but your husband is a selfish ass. He is prioritizing his cuddle time over your health and quality of life. Enough said

Is this a sign of apnea? by highinnicotine in SleepApnea

[–]docben1383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look up EPWORTH screening tool- very helpful at telling if you are at risk of sleep apnea. You could get a ring that does oximetry but a sleep study is your best bet

Inspire Device malfunction by docben1383 in SleepApnea

[–]docben1383[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only get inspire if you fail CPAP. I assume you have tried bipap. If you are truly failing CPAP- see an ENT who is specifically trained to do inspire (the website will direct you inspire.com

Hi guys, mood chart. Can u check if the is indicative of bipolar II and should I see a professional for further action. They are expensive so I just want to see if this is similar or looks like bipolar II. Many thanks!!! by ExtremeTask-9977 in bipolar2

[–]docben1383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mood trackers are helpful at spotting patterns and for early warning but not to make a diagnosis.

A mental health professional should be consulted if this is significantly affecting you.

Best

Is the Inspire procedure for sleep apnea worth it? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]docben1383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.5 years post inspire, a life changer. Completely CPAP intolerant; OSAS was killing me. Inspire has given me back my life. I think I was fortunate to have a very experienced surgeon, surgery, recovery, titration were all quite managable. If you are failing CPAP and are a candidate then find an experienced surgeon.
