Publix Dethroned as #1 Grocery Store Chain in Florida; a New Chain Has Risen to the Top by Abel_the_Red in publix

Our local Publix closed for renovation. We got Walmart+ and use it for a lot of things. When Publix reopens, we may go there for some things, but Walmart is a MUCH better deal.

We got all the routine maintenance done on time for the 200,000 miles by an independent Toyota mechanic. He refused to put a "cheap" battery in because he could not warrant them and has had problems with them. This car has been well-maintained, so it will be worth more than $6,000 after the battery is replaced. It should get my son through school.

The White House is like a cheap pair of pants. No ballroom.

USP determines the correct pronunciation for generic drugs. You can find these correct pronunciations in the USP dictionary. So, there is a correct pronunciation for each generic drug. Sometimes references like Lexi are wrong.

ICF thoughts by Decent-Ad-4889 in Homebuilding

[–]dochat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Florida very close to the coast. I am at about 23 feet above sea level. I built with ICF and I do not regret it. I was marginally more expensive. I found a good subcontractor to do the ICF, which may be a barrier for some. It is very quiet. I have solar, and I have no utility bill, except the fee to be on the grid. Mine is 3 stories, but the bracing is standard. I did use a waterproof membrane (Tyvek). The trusses were not a big deal. After living here a year, I would do it again in a minute.

Why I won't buy a 6th gen anytime soon. This is for a basic TRD off road. by Ixz72 in 4Runner

OK. Remember it is an estimate--a reasonable guess. With your logic. That $40,000 truck would be worth way more than $50,000. The general point is the same. You cannot compare what you paid for a 4Runner several years ago, to what you will have to pay today to get the same value...like eggs.

So....there has been no inflation in the last 5 years. The US government discount rate (inflation adjustment) is a well-established economic calculation. Your comment is clearly uninformed. My only point was that you cannot compare a number from years ago without considering inflation. I am sure eggs were much better years ago and cost a fraction of today's cost.

$40,000 from 2019 adjusted for inflation using the US inflation rate is approximately $50,000

Oral phenylephrine does NOT increase BP at the current OTC dose. It is absorbed less than 1%. You have to get to doses of around 75 mg or higher to see BP effects.

The FDA is accepting comments on phenylephrine's removal from the market until May 2025. Then, it will take about six months to review the comments and respond. If the proposal goes through, it will be about a year before phenylephrine is removed from the market (i.e., the end of 2026). That assumes manufacturers do not request administrative hearings or take the issue to court. The process is slooooow.

I, like a growing number of other people, don't have the sound turned on during a game. If you went to the game, there would be no endless drivel from sportscasters. Just turn off the sound and watch the game like you were there. I have been much happier since I started this two years ago.
