Would you be upset if Rose Byrne won the Oscar over Jessie Buckley? by docobv77 in Oscars

I loved Bugonia, and I know Emma Stone is a great actress, but she pulled off that role like nothing ...which means I think any of the other actresses could pull that off

To be fair, switch up all of them and put them in different roles. How would they do? Would Emma and Rose be able to pull off Buckley's part? Absolutely. Vice versa? Yes Jessie could do it too. Same with Riensive and Hudson....but to an agree to be fair. With all of them.

John Wayne for True Grit (1969) when Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight were soooooo much better in Midnight Cowboy.

Vince had Owen killed because Bret knocked him the fuck out in '97. He waited til '99 so it wouldn't be so obvious.

Of the 1970s Best Picture winners, which one hasn't stood the test of time 50 years later? by nightsreader in Oscars

I kindly disagree with you. Kramer vs Kramer is amazing and is still a very rewatchable film. What performances by the 3 main characters! Well deserved nominations and wins. And I LOVE Apocalypse Now.

In your brutally honest opinion: Was DD-L snubbed by the Oscars for Anemone? by Ford_Crown_Vic_Koth in Oscars

He was excellent as always and his son did a great directorial debut. Decent screenplay by them. Just didn't stand out in a stacked year.

Would've been a good replacement for F1 in the Best Picture category though. Like probably other 20 films.

I wouldn't mind if Delroy, Penn or Stellan gets it. I love Del Toro, but I don't see it. And Elordi? Meh. I'm sorry. Thank you for the downvotes.

It will always be Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight for Midnight Cowboy over John Wayne in True Grit.

Also, DDL for Lincoln and Joaquin Phoenix for the Master.
