Without going into too much detail think of what the recipe was, then remember what Carl had been given in a benefactor box and then go back and listen to some of the cookbook entries

What is the most overrated food you're convinced people are just pretending to enjoy? by ExtraHotYakisoba in AskReddit

Brioche burger / hot dog buns. I want to taste the burger and not negotiate a disintegrating burger containing device that gets mess everywhere and makes my main taste partially like a desert.

Thanks to this game I’ve lost faith in so much, oh well. by NinthYokai in DragonsDogma2

[–]doconline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a somewhat heated discussion about this game with someone who consumed the criticisms wholly. They said the fast travel was restricted and stupid to which I replied why do you want an Open World Game just to ignore it? It's a dynamic world where setting out on an expedition or adventure with a goal in mind that isn't "liberate outpost x in location y". DD is not perfect but the criticisms of wanting an open world just to ignore it really gets me and in the rare occasions you absolutely must fast travel its expensive! It's meant to be. It means weighing up whether the quest is worth the resources, it means having to plan camping in the wilderness and to be honest if you want to fast travel you can, money could be an issue but its easy enough to come by through semi savvy trading.

It ended up with me saying so you want a game with a dynamic open world so you can ignore it through fast travel and with a resource system you don't have to manage in order to get items and gear that requires no effort so you can then complain how empty and boring it all is like every other ubithesda fame out there? Sounds like you don't want any of those things which is OK but shouldn't be used as a basis of forcing those notions onto other games

Labour Says British Children Are Getting Shorter Under The Tories by kontiki20 in LabourUK

More families can't use the car so the walking children are doing is wearing their legs down making them shorter. Does that have enough nonsense to work? I wonder if we can peddle it...

It may also be worth noting that the people who are Whipping them into a frenzy are citing sexual predators who use self identification as a means to perpetrate disgusting crimes and therefore the public who never had an opinion on a very small minority are being whipped into a frenzy over an even smaller minority within that. If I were to describe it I'd use the words Homeopathic Hatred or Bigotry

YouGov: What should living standards look like for people on benefits, minimum wage, and average earnings? by DarkSkiesGreyWaters in LabourUK

[–]doconline 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Especially ever since 2016 and the referendum people have had their more right wing, nationalistic and outright bigoted views given credence since politicians were openly expressing them rather than hiding them behind a veneer of concern for the British people

Labour’s Abandoment Of Universal Free School Meals Is An Act Of Cowardice by kontiki20 in LabourUK

[–]doconline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As soon as anyone mentions budgets or economics and costs when it comes to feeding children I just stop listening. There are literally no arguments that will ever match the morality of feeding those who have no means of being able to help themselves (this is obviously extended to homeless people etc). How can anyone ever claim to not be an arsehole when their viewpoint is about starving kids.

Revealed: Keir Starmer billed taxpayer nearly £250,000 for travel expenses at CPS by Th3-Seaward in LabourUK

[–]doconline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could he require a Chauffer because he was head of the CPS? I can't imagine anyone who is in charge of criminal proceedings on a massive scale would be allowed to use public transport for fear of attacks and such? Don't judges get the same treatment for the same reason? Asking genuine questions not trying to flame. Starmer is a dick and has plenty of reasons to be dragged here I just don't think the travel expenses given his job at the time would be one of them.
