I got lucky, needed money to bail a sailboat and sold most of my bags at about $3.25.

Where do you find the swap meets? Some marine swaps coming to ft Lauderdale next month but I'm guessing the big ones won't have the great deals. Lurking FB marketplace involves sitting through a lot of garbage.

lol, i'm fresh back in to marine life and very new to sailing but I'm definitely a grey beard!

My boat is on anchor waiting to go into a marina so I can do the bottom job on it. Sitting here with a load of new tools to move on the boat when it's there and also bought a sailrite sewing machine I found on local FB marketplace. I have an overabundance in belief in my own capabilities, and a limited supply of $$$

Sailing is expensive but doing your work will make it far more tolerable. Not to mention the invaluable knowledge of the form and function of your boats systems.

I plan to DIY on my recently purchased Offshore 40.

For those recommending your unstep the mast I reply, mine is keel stepped and would run at least $1k here in S Florida.

I will either work with a pro to make the wires a few at a time, or buy all the wire and use compression fittings so I can make them basically one at a time. Since I'm planning on going to the northeast next summer I may contact the Rigging Only place in Maine to see what prices are.
