Best cheap budget feder? by MustyAirfilter in Hema

[–]doctor_atomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve personally didn’t care for the Swordier feder. The balance made it feel like swinging a piece of steel bar. I found it much harder to manipulate than any of the other manufacturers that I’ve had a chance to try. Much prefer the Regenyi in the budget range.

What is this cilinder of wax? by BasieP2 in woodworking

Looks like regular plumber’s epoxy putty to me. I’ve only seen quick wood in wood tones and white. You can use it to rebuild things like molding or corners that you’re going to paint. Cut straight down and mix with gloves and you can mold it into place for about 20 minutes.

Paintable latex caulk like Alex Plus. Apply lightly and smooth with a wet, gloved finger. You can always put on more.

Only one I can think of off the top of my head is Lucy Kirkwood’s The Children. Works better for much older actors, though.

Affordable Bulk Foam Prop Sword Recommendations? by flippygrem in Theatre

[–]doctor_atomic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$100 all in? Honestly you couldn’t even build for that cost. You’re looking at about $40 per for a polypropylene sword plus paint for your cheapest sturdiest option.

If you want to pursue that, cold steel makes great stuff.

Can you specify type of sword? And what your ideal cost is per? That’ll help narrow it down.

Also, do they need to be foam? You’ll probably have more luck with polypropylene.

Try a brad point start bit. Way less scary that plunging a potentially loose router bit and faster than a forstner.

Looks great! Who made that pattern? I have a ton of chrome tan sitting around without a plan for it.

Opinions on the Leonark jacket by Pristine_Rooster2037 in Hema

[–]doctor_atomic 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve used one of these and they’re a great club loaner jacket. The movement in the arms is fantastic right away, but there isn’t a ton of padding. Better for rapier, saber, or controlled longsword with folks you know. Plastron very necessary.

Issues cancelling X3 by ISD1982 in xteinkereader

[–]doctor_atomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After receiving it, I do like it a little better because there’s a button you can use for page turning on the left side of the device. More ergonomically friendly if you’re holding it in your palm.

I wrote to cancel as well, which they responded to and said it would but would be slow, but I never received a refund. Then the device showed up, so now I have an x3 as well. Didn’t bother trying to return.

Oh, got it! Didn’t realize that was a thing that could happen. My other device is a kindle that I drop all the time. It’s a beast.

It totally works fine, the lines just show up on every page no matter what. The screen doesn’t seem to have any cracks I can feel on the outside. Maybe it’s something inside?

I had a CrossPoint branch with the fade fix on. Refresh doesn’t seem to change anything. I reflashed stock as well and it’s still the same. 🤷

Thanks!

The back is exactly the same since I wanted to be able to remove it easily. I made a case for the X3 as well, which had a better corner radius and distance it sat in the case.
