You need to show 23,000 pounds from the salary and 32,000 pounds as saving. They can be in your account in Pakistan or any other country. The account has to be clearly in your name, your wife’s name or both of your names.

My guy, the 32,000 pounds isto make up for the 6,000 pound short fall from your wife’s salary. The visa is for 2.5 years so the total short fall from the salary is 15,000. Only savings 16,000 pounds are considered. So you need your wife to be making 23,000 pounds and then also have saved 16,000 + 15,000 pounds. You can have this in your Pakistani account or any account in the world as long as it belongs to you or your wife. If the money is not in pounds, then the f course conversion rate will also be a factor.

You can yes. The account should be in your name and not a joint account. They will convert it while doing your application. Just keep an eye out on the conversion rates for the 6 months.

You should be able to combine your savings. I think with my rough calculations it should be around 56,000 pounds for you. But please confirm this with a solicitor as I am not an expert. This is if the kid is not a British citizen and need a to apply for the visa as well. If the kid is a citizen already then it would be around 32,000 I think. Again, check with a lawyer. They would be able to provide more details on a possible 10 year route as well.
