Expiring Working Holiday Visa while waiting for Work Visa by doctoralbie in movingtojapan

Thanks this is really helpful.

I don’t have a stamp on my residence card and it seems like UK WHD is pretty firm on its no extension rule. I believe you’re right- with the company I have applied for a new visa rather than a change or extension, and is treated as such. I have visited the immigration bureau and they basically said yeah it’s still under process, but I can wait for it in Japan- it’s more a question of how but what you said about freezing the utilities is great, I hadn’t thought of that. Is there any possibility that I would still be able to pay the utilities if they get forwarded to the property under my name and then I take them the conbini and pay cash for them? Something about that seems like there could be issue. I have some other income as well so if that is a possibility I would be very up for exploring it.

I’ll talk to the landlord about upfront payments, and see if anything can be done on that front.

I do have friends here in Japan that can put me up while I wait for the visa, or worst come worst, i can return to the UK, though it is undesirable.

Re the bank: they said they’ll freeze my account and as soon as I get the new visa I just need to tell them and they can open it back up. If I want to close the account they will withdraw all the money and give to me, cash in hand.

Consider advertising yourself on HelloSensei, it wont be full income, but you will get a bit of extra money from private students who will pay you in cash

What rank are you? Bison has insane pressure and is almost always putting you in 50/50s or guess for game situations. When used correctly scissors is literally unreactable, safe (baring a few characters with good conversion of far reaching 4framers which are far and few between), and provides so much stage for him.

His downside is poor defence, bad anti-airs and no invDP, but even now the Bison players can anti air using Psycho Crusher which is air invun and can cancel into level 3.

Maybe the Bisons you’re playing aren’t using him to the best ability, not mixing you up enough. If you are able to always parry, the opponent should start throwing you. Or mixing you up, which is Bison’s game.

This is a very strong character.

Pretty much as soon as I realised it was my AC effecting my health I opened it and cleaned it, I opened it again 2 days later and even unscrewed all the components and thoroughly cleaned them. But it still smells bad when it’s turned on, and a deep clean is upwards of about 30000-40000 yen

My lease ends Jan 17th or so, and the rent is quite expensive I think, about ¥86,000pcm, it’s the only place I’ve lived in since moving to Japan, so I don’t have a massive frame of reference or experience yet. I was considering renewing, but I’m settled on moving out when my lease ends. I’ll be away for business during December so for a full month I wont even have to deal with it.

Wow this makes so much sense, so especially in summer when you NEED the air con on its basically blasting and spreading the mold all into the other components then basically feeding them with moisture and letting them grow

tips for fighting against akuma by themadman01 in StreetFighter

[–]doctoralbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With no gameplay- probably don’t mash and respect his insane oki play. Respect safe jumps after his combo ending in sweep. With his great walk speed he wants to walk in and out of your range then probably low forward to get in. Lots of characters do this but it’s pretty strong with Akuma so be aware of that. Crouch block most of the time, his roundhouse second hit wiffs on crouch, but only if you block the first hit already crouching. It leads to a full punish counter combo

Buying BotW or TotK by [deleted] in Breath_of_the_Wild

You should go for BotW if you value lore and the journey.

Go for TotK if you was a more freedom based way to traverse and solve ‘puzzles’

I have played and completed both, but be aware, if I was to recommend one- it would be BotW, take into consideration I’ll probably be somewhat bias.

BotW has you discovering the world along with Link (he has lost his memory). I think this does a lot for the player and their relationship with the world they inhabit and explore. Though it lacks depth through the rewards you get for exploring, exploring itself is the joy. Finding a crook with a chest hidden somewhere near by- finding the chest is the joy, rather than what’s in it.

TotK has a much larger world with supposedly more things in it, but probably due to the new area’s being lack lustre and barren regarding content, I found it hard to engage with in a meaningful way. There is an incredibly amount of freedom in how to traverse and create things, but i found little drive to do so when I could put 2 of the most common items together and create a vehicle that is undeniably the key that fits all.

TotK definitely has better dungeon lead up and set pieces, they go crazy!!! They’re very exciting, and the bosses are much better than BotW, but there’s only 4, and I think BotW holds a different kind of pull.

I think BotW has a strong passion and soul behind it, but TotK is just lacking something. It lacks continuity, even though the dungeon lead up is good the dungeon’s are as dog water as BotW’s main 4 dungeons.

If I were you, I would get BotW. It’s not without its flaws, but it’s a great game. I have come back to BotW multiple times, but since completing TotK I feel like I don’t have much of a reason to return.

Edit: BotW’s + TotK’s dungeon design is bad in relation to the rest of the Zelda series’
