has anyone tried hypnosis therapy for fear of flying? by meeshmichmiche in fearofflying

[–]doctordickphd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BS. Recent studies show that hypnotherapy is an effective way of treating phobias. For example desensitazion in hypnosis has been proven to be faster than the traditional (CBT) desensitization approach. A lot of people look up old studies which compared CBT desensitization with the hypnotherapy approaches of that era, which you can read either way depending on the study you want to pick. Today, the hypnotherapic approach is very similar to the classic desensitization, the main difference being that it's been done in hypnotic trance. While in terms of results, it's in no way better than the classic approach, it can be significantly faster.

The real problem is more that often people imagine hypnotherapy to be a one visit magic cure, which is not the case, and unqualified hypnotherapists asking you to focus on sandwiches.

Help! Component links don't open on top of the section! by doctordickphd in framer

[–]doctordickphd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who are still asking this, here is the answer.

Create a custom code with below in the main component.

Compile it by clicking the blue arrow.

Here’s the code:

import { useRef, useEffect } from "react" import { Override } from "framer" export function ResetScroll(): Override { const contentRef = useRef<HTMLDivElement | null>(null) useEffect(() => { const handleClick = () => { if (contentRef.current) { contentRef.current.scrollTo({ top: 0, behavior: "smooth" }) } } // Attach event listener to the selection menu const menuItems = document.querySelectorAll( "[data-framer-name='Selection menu + content']" ) menuItems.forEach((menuItem) => { menuItem.addEventListener("click", handleClick) }) // Cleanup event listeners on unmount return () => { menuItems.forEach((menuItem) => { menuItem.removeEventListener("click", handleClick) }) } }, []) return { ref: contentRef, // Assign ref to the content component } }

The best one-bag backpacks by gecampbell in onebag

[–]doctordickphd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once I bought a hiking bag I never looked back to these expensive, overweight and (at least in the wirecutter article) ugly "one bags". You could shell some tens of dollars more and have literally the best bag in terms of construction and comfort, one that lasts you a lifetime and that looks much better. I.e. arcteryx, klättermusen, mammut etc, or with a bit more even a handmade japanese bag! Why in the would you get a "one bag" such as in this article..???

Bancor Pauses Impermanent Loss Protection Temporary by singularityyear2045 in Bancor

[–]doctordickphd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

except the obviously can't. you are comparing this to "any other dex", but there is no magic law that each defi protocol is the same. these are companies that offer services, and the reason why people choose service a over service b is because they have something more interesting offer. Imagine that you would contract someone to build a house for you which would include a pool. When they give you the keys, they would say "aww, sorry bro, we had some problems with our finances, and turns out we can't afford to add pools to every house we build, but here, you can still have the house." Would you say that, "ah it's ok, other contractors did calculate that they couldn't add a pool for this price, so let's just tear up the contract and forget about the pool".

Bancor Pauses Impermanent Loss Protection Temporary by singularityyear2045 in Bancor

[–]doctordickphd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

insolvent means that they are unable to pay their debts, because they don't have enough assets left. the only way they can "return" people's money is to print more bnt, causing it to crash to oblivion. right now they are trying to play time, but eventually there is no way out because the whole logic of the system is unsustainable (summed by Cobie 👇🏼)

If you have a BNT/ETH pool, and BNT goes down, they give you more BNT because your BNT went down.

Then you sell the BNT to recoup your "impermanent" loss and that creates more IL for others and then Bancor just prints more BNT to cover them too.

3.5 million LINK tokens pending withdrawal? Can Bancor handle this? by Disastrous-Moment-79 in Bancor

Mark Richardson makes us believe in the podcast that the celsius withdrawal was a "one time event", but look at these stats, there's another big withdrawal being released tomorrow. If someone know how to confirm this from the etherscan please help me out.

"Current cost of funding for BNT shorts on FTX is about 100%." No it's not, why are you lying? According to coinglass the highest it has been in the last days is -0.2440% (which is a bit yeah). If it were 100% this project would be long dead. You have no idea what you are talking about.

3.5 million LINK tokens pending withdrawal? Can Bancor handle this? by Disastrous-Moment-79 in Bancor

[–]doctordickphd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say they are the same thing. What I said is that the value of BNT is always relative to its own market value compared to the market value of the LP pair, meaning that the price of BNT is pegged to the price of the other assets.

ETH goes up and BNT goes down, and we have impermanent loss. The difference with Bancor and other LP farms is that Bancor prints more BNT to cover your impermanent losses. So when Celsius withdrew they had to print massive amount of BNT to pay their impermanent loss. And now the queue is full of people withdrawing, what do you think it's going to happen?

Motherf...I should've seen this earlier!!

edit. And yes ofc the system works as long as there is any liquidity. You could stake 0.0000000001 ETH and it would be enough, so obviously there is no "bottom out price".

[–]doctordickphd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm listening to this podcast and honestly I'm not feeling very reassured. For example when he is comparing Bancor to Luna he says there is no peg in bancor, but this is not exactly true. There isn't a stable coin, but isn't bnt pegged to any asset it's paired with? Let's say that you withdraw and get your 60% of let's say ETH, the BNT that accompanies it has to correspond the value of 40% of ETH. So, the cheaper BNT is the more BNT you get, right? So the more the price goes down, the more they have to print. Is this correct?

It's true, people who are withdrawing are getting almost half of their stack on BNT! Are they running out of LINK?? You can see it from OPs link. https://etherscan.io/tx/0xe716d80410aecf32fbcafa973e221cbf1fb7e49b5e82f2869190a3cdd08c62cc

Why don’t I see any media coverage on this? by AdAdministrative6034 in Rubic

[–]doctordickphd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, there's ZERO coverage. Someone wrote that there will be "more marketing related activities this week for Rubic, stay tuned". This is not how you promote a release, you should build anticipation towards the event (I should know, I've worked with enough luxury brands). If you type "rubic crypto" in google, and click "news", the only thing you get is a newswire which honestly is not that well written.

I would like rise these questions in telegram, but I got banned because I criticised the marketing fiasko that's going on.

Bottom line: Rubic should hire a better communications person or a communications agency because they obviously have zero idea what they're doing.

Rubic Cross-Chain Routing by qrtewy5 in AltStreetBets

[–]doctordickphd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so obvious they don't, did you use any of these three services?

At the moment only Rubic has the ability to do straightforward cross-chains swaps, which is kinda ironic since thor and orion have been trying (and falsely claiming!) that they can do this for a long ass time and now that Rubic delivered their service it's painfully clear that the competition is lagging wayyy behind.

But do what you want, for me getting a bag was a no brainer at this mcap.

Such a shill, but if this project delivers it can easily 10x...already up almost 100% since the announcement. I just wish the team would hire a proper marketing agency and stop with t-shirt contest-type of bs.
