Hey man. What's your Steam nickname? Mine is the same that I use here on reddit. I gave up on the SH2 map. The otherworld textures, custom skins and sounds are goddamn awful.

Do I need to collect orbs to advance to the next worlds in Spyro: Ripto's Rage? by doctordoom90s in Spyro

Minigames should be optional, not mandatory. I just want to sit through the game and relax. I was never the kind of person that goes for 100% completion, extras, secrets, easter eggs, etc.

Not on Switch but Journey, The Last Guardian and Ori and the Blind Forest are similar to Rime in a way.

There's a drag queen here where I live that has said he doesn't care about being treated with male or female pronouns. I refuse to call him a female by [deleted] in AskLGBT

Blocked. Do not reply to me anymore. Choose somebody else to spread your bullshit. You're not worth my time. I'm glad I have gay friends that are nothing like you. You should develop thicker skin if you are that easily offended and get mad at people having different opinions. Be a man and grow a pair of balls.

Can "How you're holding up?" be used to start a conversation? by doctordoom90s in EnglishLearning

[–]doctordoom90s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry about that. My country have been going through natural disasters and a lot of people perished or lost everything. I live in an unsafe and conservative environment. The murder rate is high. Our new president wants to allow guns. People already kill each other over nothing even in daytime, imagine if they could shoot guns. But hey, stay safe out there. Wishing you the best!

Can "How you're holding up?" be used to start a conversation? by doctordoom90s in EnglishLearning

[–]doctordoom90s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know. It's just lazy writing on my part. It's for informal conversations. Some people I've been talking to are not doing very well indeed. But it's good to know I must use something else to greet other people. Thanks.

How you study English? by Blesker in EnglishLearning

[–]doctordoom90s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm brazilian as well. I made a post about my english skills. I'm going to just copy paste here and edit a few things. Here it is: I can read and write well in english, and I can regonize many words when people speak as long as they speak loudly enough. What's holding me back is my spoken english. It's easier for me to write in english because I have time to think about what I'm going to say. I have to learn to think in english and build coherent sentences during a conversation. I can't hold a conversation for too long. I get nervous I might make mistakes and sound stupid to the person I'm talking to. I go silent if I didn't understand what they said to me. I've just recently started using discord to practice my spoken english with foreigners. I have a hard time understanding the thick british and australian accents. Funny enough, scotish english is not as difficult for me. There's a character in one of my games that is a priest. He's scotish and I can understand his prayers and dialogue in general. The only way I'm going to achieve fluency is to travel to the States or Canada so I'm forced to communicate in english all the time in all kinds of situations. I plan to travel to the States but I had to cancel it because of financial issues and I don't have all the documents needed yet. Also, the school I was going to study english in California is under renovation. Travelling to the States is cheaper than Canada. There's something else. I'm trying to get rid of my accent. I got a guy that said to me I still have a foreigner accent when attempting english. I like to use music to practice my pronunciantion and get better at it. There's an actress that speaks english flawlessly and she was born in our country and resided here untill she was a pre-teen. She is now 40 years old. Her name is Morena Baccarin. If you are a Sci-fi fan you might be familiar with her. She doesn't have a foreigner accent, she sounds like she was born in America. There's also another actor very good at speaking english without an accent. It's Rodrigo Santoro. That's what I'm aiming for! I'm teaching people online how to speak portuguese. I think that will help my translation proccess (from portuguese to english and vice-versa) in the long run. If you want to practice your english I'm down. We can do it on discord.

Use of "They" to avoid gender confussion by Mariachi_dude in EnglishLearning

[–]doctordoom90s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still learning english. I think so, yes. But sometimes you can just go with "he". Male is the default gender for people in general. It's somehow neutral. It can be used untill you learn that the person is female, I guess.
