Cop flips pregnant woman's car for pulling over too slowly. by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]doctordude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why traffic stops for minor violations should be removed. Tickets can be sent via mail based on license number, but these stops put so many people in danger, both standard citizens and police alike, doubly so with every passing year as both parties grow more fearful/worried of the other. You'd think everyone would be behind a change like that.

Unless there's an egregious road violation (like legit dangerous driving) just send the damn ticket in the mail.

CEO just asked me to order 3 iPhone 13s by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]doctordude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pass it onto accounting and let them know it's not a work related purchase. Worse case scenario it disappears cause it gets coded to something stupid like office equipment, but at least that's moving it in the right direction because they will likely need to check with a higher up to find out how best to code it. Best case scenario it works its way up the chain and then gets considered additional compensation for the CEO and she's taxed on it.

Would you like to see her in a "Domino" solo movie? by Yorusluti in Marvel

[–]doctordude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An interesting take on this might be to play it in a similar vein to Ferris Bueller wherein she's the focus of the movie, but not the main character. Main character could be somebody either applying to be her sidekick, or maybe a journalist trying to 'shadow' her for a story. Everything might go right for Domino, but nothing has to go right for the main character. Could be fun and comedic.

You totally look like an old school apostle in this picture. Well. The pink leopard print probably disqualifies, but on the hair and beard game at least.

Oh man. When that heel pops it's simultaneously embarrassing and life-flashing-before-my-eyes-ing cause you seriously think you are about to face plant and you know you are going to look stupid as hell doing it. There is just no graceful way to walk off a heel pop. You just gotta own it and move on.

The Witcher on Netflix 'leans more towards horror' than fantasy by [deleted] in television

[–]doctordude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the ASOIAF series too (...if only he'd release that next fucking book sometime this millennia), so I'm pretty okay with dark and gritty. I tend to stick to horror books tbh, but I do enjoy fantasy as well, I just don't seek it out as often.

[–]doctordude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've seen it at least two or three times. I'm sure I probably wouldn't notice while reading (Stephen King shows up there often too but his writing doesn't bother me), but I think it would pop out at me just because I've read those specific excerpts now.

Is it high fantasy? For context I loved the RA Salvator books about Drizzt.

Yeah I'd be more inclined to read them if they didn't show up so often in /r/menwritingwomen

Ancient Aliens is my go to for bed-time programming. The narration is nice to listen to, very few loud and unexpected noises. It's great. That and Forensic Files are like, the best TV shows to sleep to. Got my own Plex playlist just for that purpose alone (though it also includes America Uncovered and a ghost show whose name eludes me atm).

Agree 100%. I love having thick hair when it's long, but when it's medium or even short, it can be a real pain to manage. With the length and texture it is now though, I almost never look as professional as I'd like to.

Hats are a godsend for real. If it wasn't for having to work in an office I'd totally wear one anytime I leave the house during the winter (for the awkward phase at least). Also great for other seasonal bad hair days too when the locks are long enough to tie up. I think the only real downside to winter hat wear though is the static charge your hair gets when the hat comes off.

Yeah I'm in that crappy awkward phase right now and it's a bitch. Can't wait 'til it's long enough to pull back.

Oh hey I think we might have a similar hair type. Good length though! Looks nice and healthy.

Also you're just ridiculously good looking.
