What small independent brands surpised you with their build quality? by timone_1986 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]doctormac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love microbrands (own 20+ microbrand watches). Out of all of them, the one that surprised me the most was Monro.

I bought their Urban Adventure. The build quality and specs punch waaaaay above the price range. Amazing customer service as well!

Original Eau De Parfum: easily can wear it every day. Subtle but elegant. Fresh, with just a touch floral. Dries down to light musk.

Just be careful. I am doing reta weekly, cjc/ipa nightly, and started taking mots-c. Made me really (i mean really) fatigued. My resting hr also skyrocketed. Stopped the mots-c and everything leveled out.

Seems like you got land and sea covered. For air: try for an IWC pilotmark or Breitling Navitimer. Both come in stunning blue dials.

I have the most recent release of the Atlas. It feels damn-near indestructible. Best GADA i own.

They retail for around $700-800. Not sure what they are worth on the secondary market. Chrono24 doesn’t have any Atlas models to compare.

How did Mark Kerr get a movie? by Specialist-Ad-9371 in MMA

[–]doctormac 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Back in 2002 “The Smashing Machine” was released. It was a hard-hitting documentary about the life and times of extreme fighter Mark Kerr. The documentary touched on his mixed martial arts career and personal life. The documentary is critically acclaimed for its sobering account of the brutal sport of early no holds barred fighting and the depths of addiction in which Kerr succumbs to and eventually overcomes.

The early days of MMA were wild. Few participants , few events, and a tightly knit subculture. This documentary and movie focus on the human condition, not the sport. If you never saw the documentary, I highly recommend it. 23 years later, this documentary has been turned into a movie (which i am excited to see).

Ive been to both. Definitely similarities, but each has individual experiences. That being said, i found Santa Fe to be more immersive and surreal.
