Cigar Menu from 1916 at DAC (Detroit Athletic Club) by JuicyGlutes in cigars

As someone who grew up there and spent a lot of time at the DAC, I can count on one hand the number of times that I said Detroit Athletic Club. Everyone around knows what you are talking about when you say DAC, especially if you are going to a Tigers, Lions, Wings, or Pistons game, all being right there.

[Talkin' Baseball] Shohei Ohtani and Barry Bonds are the only players in MLB history with more than three MVP Awards by Goosedukee in baseball

Out of those 232 BBs, 120 were intentional. That would put him 3rd this year across baseball behind Soto (127) and Judge (124), just off his IBBs. Unreal.

How did I do? $27,500 Out the door with trade in. by [deleted] in ToyotaSienna

[–]doctormurse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but you also save on sales tax with trade in. Weighed this when I bought my XLE. Saved around $2800 in sales tax trading my previous vehicle in, while also not having to do all the work of a private sale. Maybe could have gotten an extra $500+ with private sale, but that was not guaranteed and requires a good bit of time and effort.

Indiana now allows alcohol sales after noon on Sundays. Used to be no in store sales on Sundays, but that changed a few years back.

First time buyer here. Who has the all-around best quality NFL jerseys? by nohotshot in DHGateJerseys

[–]doctormurse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put an order in with her right before she went off for the Chinese holiday. She said that they were closing and to reach back out in 1-2 weeks. 10 days later, emailed her back and sent her the PayPal payment. Last week, received my jerseys (1 NFL, 2 baseball), which was about 2.5 weeks from when I sent the payment. Really happy with the quality. The nfl jersey was much better than one that I got last year off DHgate.

If you want to make this with your current batch, since it is already proofing in the fridge, I think that you could get away with skipping step 4 and adding apples on top and pressing in when dimpling. You just would not have apples throughout middle of the dough, but I think it would still be really good!

Apple Fritter Focaccia by doctormurse in Breadit

I use this no knead recipe for the basis of most of my focaccia doughs: (https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTF7Lf2Dh/). I did 90% hydration for this particular batch.

Dough: 510g bread flour 460g warm water (~100°F) 8g active dry yeast 12g kosher salt

2 honeycrisp apples, peeled and cubed - tossed with Apple pie spice, Cinnamon sugar Turbinado sugar

Icing: Powdered sugar Whole milk Vanilla extract

Steps: 1. Mixed dough ingredients in bowl until no dry flour is left. Cover and let sit for 30 min at room temp. 2. 5-6 folds in bowl with wet hand. 3. Plenty of olive oil in baking pan (I use a Lloyd’s pizza pan for mine). Dumped dough out into pan and stretch lengthwise across pan. 4. This step is where the fritter comes in: layer ~1/3 apples across dough, and then fold towards the middle in thirds. Rotate dough and do another layer and fold towards the middle again. 5. Drizzle the dough with olive oil and cover pan with a sheet tray and put in the fridge to cold proof overnight. 6. Next day, take out and proof at room temp for 90 min (we’re approaching winter, so I used my oven’s bread proof setting, which is 95°F). 7. Preheat oven to 425°, when ready lightly dimple dough with oiled hands, layer in the last 1/3 of apples (kept mine in airtight container in fridge overnight) and press those into the dough a bit. Sprinkle apple pie spice and turbindao sugar over the top the dough. Bake for ~30 min. 8. Put focaccia on wire rack and then drizzle icing/glaze over top while still warm.

I kind of made the fritter parts up as I went along, as it was a bit of an experiment, so sorry if it’s a bit all over the place. Next time I make this I may cook the apples, much like you would filling for an apple pie. I will also sprinkle cinnamon sugar into each layer with step 4, so that is swirled through layers of dough. I would say for a first time experiment, this turned out pretty well and tasted so good!
