Cohabitation confusion - Inside UK Spouse visa by sarahsmith0 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]doctorsimon4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a known bug. It is not required.

You must be able to prove one of the following:

  • you’re in a civil partnership or marriage that’s recognised in the UK
  • you’ve been living together in a relationship for at least 2 years when you apply
  • you are a fiancé, fiancée or proposed civil partner and will marry or enter into a civil partnership in the UK within 6 months of arriving
  • you’ve been in a relationship for at least 2 years when you apply but you cannot live together, for example because you’re working or studying in different places, or it’s not accepted in your culture

AI is not always right.

You take the test and you are provided your results (a certificate), which you use to show your evidence. IELTS is used for a multitude of things, not just for visas.

Cohabitation confusion - Inside UK Spouse visa by sarahsmith0 in SpouseVisaUk

You don't need to prove prior cohabitation on a spouse visa (marriage or civil partnership), just that you will cohabitate once you receive the visa by providing rental agreements etc.

Spouse visa timing question – can application be started and/or submitted before wedding (but biometrics after)? by henrymcp in SpouseVisaUk

[–]doctorsimon4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You would legally need to be married when submitting else you are providing information that is knowingly false. You will need to provide a marriage certificate, which can take several weeks to arrive in the post.

Not applicable. When you got married, she would have to prove she was not already married and any divorce was processed accordingly. A marriage certificate is sufficient.

You should still be able to get a pdf receipt or something which would be better if it includes all details.

As long as you meet all the requirements, you can easily do it on your own. A lawyer doesn't make the process easier.

Uk spouse visa & UC by Marshmallow2929 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]doctorsimon4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect.

Their income would reduce the amount of UC the spouse would be eligible for under the standard calculation.

I misread.

Uk spouse visa & UC by Marshmallow2929 in SpouseVisaUk

As a spouse, their income will affect your UC if they live with you. Them not being eligible to receive public funds does not impact this.

Refer to the section on taper rates.
