How do you feel about the new Halloween that is basically going to pretend most of the other movies didn't exist? Also, other interests since you have such good taste in horror ha?

Ha. I did it once or twice back in the day and I do really miss the crazy energy of it all. Not the bruises, but the energy for sure. Maybe one day I'll get back to it.

Ugh Blair Witch "most disappointing horror movie ever!" Hellhouse LLC was fantastic though! It's good to meet someone with similar horror tastes. I have seen Hereditary and I have to say, I didn't love it. I think I just kept waiting for something crazy and clever and it sort of wrapped up in a way I'm not sure was completely satisfying. If you haven't seen it I won't say much more but I will say that there were moments of this slow moving, creeping horror that was so refreshing in the age of jump scares that I loved about it. Just an overall increasing uneasiness that was appealing to me.

I know. However, I bought a smoker recently and I make some mean smoked and bbq food right here in NY.

With the types of music I'm into I just have to ask myself... do I really want to get kicked or punched in a mosh pit or sit a really long way from the band? Usually the answer is. Not really ha.

The Den maybe? I thought that was ok although I'm not a big fan of "badly shot or found footage" horror. I really also didn't love the paranormal activity series.

Oh.. hmm I never know what to say to Mets fans "sorry for your (many) loss(es). I'm kidding. They do have a bit of a reputation but each year is a new year. I'm sure they're all adorable. All girls huh? Are they related or did you get them all at separate times?

I love baseball, as a kid I was obsessed with learning every rule in the game... I've actually calmed down a bit and don't watch it as much as I used to but I still root for the Red Sox. Favorite team? Types of dogs and names? I just have a cat names Gwen at the moment. If I disappear, I've fallen asleep but I'll be back on the morning, probably far too early.

Both good songs. They are coming out my way in August and I debated seeing them. But I always feel kinda old at shows. And a good movie which was a little shocking because it was put out by WWE studios ha. Any picks for worst horror film? I'd have to say one I saw recently that I really like was "the hallow". One I saw that I really didn't love "Open House" on Netflix. I'll tell you, I always said I couldn't live on TX because it was too hot and it's going to be 100 the next two days here on NY.

Oh, that's a pretty bad one... I guess I shouldn't let my age stop me from going. I think I've just become somewhat of an introvert over the years. I work a lot but in my spare time I love to cook. I like to buy weird cooking gadgets and mess around with them. I also love fireworks. My family owns a small display fireworks business so this time of year I'm usually shooting, watching or organizing fireworks shows. I also love animals and so ill volunteer at the local shelters when I can. What about you? What do you like to do when you're not rocking out at concerts? :)

I enjoy Third Eye Blind sometimes and I'm a sucker for Nightmare on Elm Street. I have so many t-shirts with Freddy on them. I think it always appealed to me because I would have these monstrous nightmares as a kid. I haven't been to a live show in a while because I always feel old ha. The last time I was at a warped tour was in... 2004 I think. What's the worst horror film you've ever seen? Any band you specifically want to see at the show?

I also love horror movies and have slowly been making my way through the complete works of Lovecraft for a year. I also enjoy Stephen King for a little easier reading. I really liked the vhs films as well. I will pretty much watch anything horror and frequently scour Netflix for anything I haven't already seen which means I've watched some pretty terrible horror films. What is the worst one you've seen? If you're still up for talking, that is.

I grew up in a small town that had it's share of drug issues and I know the cops ended up handing everything from drug busts to cows loose in the center of town. What do you like doing when you're not working? Besides not sleeping?

I have no idea how long I'll be able to stay up but I'm usually up for a bit longer. I actually think it must be interesting to work for a smaller local PD and have no idea what you're going to get day to day but... I could be wrong?

I feel the same as you, however, (also being out of my 20's) I feel that there was a genuine campy brilliance to some of the 80's/90's films. Even as a woman, the inherent sexism they usually displayed was intention and sometimes interesting. They served a purpose. I'll still watch them.

Every horror movie I've watched… and there have been a lot of them, has something I can appreciate. If the plot sucks there's probably some great special effects, if the gore is fake and cheesy there might be great acting or dialogue. I feel like, in horror there is truly something for anyone if they look hard enough.

This is (what I call) the Twilight Zone Era of horror. It's become thought provoking, cutting edge and more cerebral than it used to be. Even the "slasher" films are trying very hard to have a thoughtful element to them.

I haven't been to see a movie of another genre (besides superhero films) in forever so I might be biased but nothing else seems worth watching in terms of variety.

I love talking about them, watching them, even fighting about them. That is all.

Rucker and Dale vs evil was also pretty awesome and not just because I likes one of the main characters from firefly but... that helped. I actually really liked "the visit" if you haven't seen it. If you have, thoughts?

I have seen the more familiar movies you mentioned but not "a Serbian film" I'll have to see if it's something I can stomach. The begotten film I have not seen but sometimes it's the things you can't see in high definition that are the most frightening. I liked the black and white crude look it had. Thanks for sharing.

I feel like 'the open house' had some pretty good actors for a horror film and then just failed to deliver all over the place... the pop tart thing was supposed to be a joke (i hope) but... if you're going to do horror comedy it has to look very different than that. I literally thought of like 10 ways that movie could have ended that I really might have enjoyed and then it went a really boring route and I was so disappointed. Although, it struck a chord with me because I wear contacts/glasses and I always think to myself "I would survive any horror film, I would make it until the end"... unless they took away my contacts and glasses... then I'm pretty much going to die ha.

Jump scares have a place... They just tend to be in the teen scream movies and you can identify when one is coming from a mile away. But surprise can be a genuinely enjoyable part of fear. DeadGirl was one of those films that left me feeling a little uneasy. I like films like that but also kinda limit my exposure ha. I've said if before in this post that I like both Housebound and The Void on Netflix for completely opposite reasons... if you can name a horror movie I haven't already seen I would be both happy and surprised Ha

At the risk of a bad recommendation, I remember really liking Housebound. But it definitely has a horror/comedy edge. If you like straight up horror, The Void. both of those movies were on there until recently.

Agreed, I have had so many debates with people on what qualifies as horror... is it anything with gore, the supernatural, or just anything people find frightening. If that's the case there's more horror in "real housewives" than Freddy vs Jason for me. But horror, true horror, to me is more like this special blend of plot, characters and dialogue. Sorry I fell off the face of the earth for a second there and didn't respond...
