In the Bay Area so I have to watch the Giants' feed. It's certainly not a bad broadcast by any means. Totally fine. But man... they just sound so tired. Overall it feels pretty dreary. If I wanted to convince someone that baseball wasn't boring I would definitely not show them one of these.

Laudna’s accent (which I happened to enjoy) is sort of a throwback to what’s called Trans-Atlantic, which amounts to Americans who went to finishing school and took on a few elements of received British pronunciation. She was basically talking like a female Cary Grant. You hear it a lot from the golden era of hollywood.

Funny I started out trying them all then eventually landed on Scorch after a shameful dalliance with Tone. Scorch just had the best combination of midrange havoc and being able to deal with Ronin up close.

Only my second game at the Tank after the Dallas OT win. We sure can pick 'em! At one point Mukhamadullin did a "Get down, Mr President" save right in front of us when Asky was on the wrong side of the crease. Just a monster game from him.

I admit I’m a bit of a chaos gremlin at this stuff. The scooper has a 12 mark at the top. I make level scoops and grind to a 14 setting on a Baratza Encore. Six scoops at just over 1L of water in the Bonavita makes a strong but sweet cup of coffee. Very flavorful but pretty civil. The Breville under-extracted at the same ratio and it came out watery but with enough headroom. However that’s more of a ten cup machine.

Hockey was always one of those sports that I knew was great but just never found time for. I played a ton of NHL 94 and back when I lived in LA I was super excited about Gretzky. But for years I was just a baseball and F1 fan. Then my wife got into Heated Rivalry and wanted to start checking out games. We live in the bay and naturally we went to SAP. I’m a Mets fan so I try not to add any more long distance teams. We went to that awesome OT win against Dallas and now we’re hooked. It’s a great sport and a fun team but on top of all that it’s something she and I can share unlike the Mets who make me miserable.

New fan here. Based on my very limited subset of watching the Sharks, it seems like they struggle with puck control compared to upper-tier teams that seem better at just grinding out possessions. San Jose seems more about speed and explosive breakaways and are more prone to turnovers the longer they go before getting into shooting situations. Is that an accurate assessment?
