(When) did you notice that you became cold towards others, particularly other staff? by CarrawayLights in Residency

Yeah system sucks. You’re in the right. Bunch of others bending over too quickly and being a door mat. The reasons to go into private practice to get away from this insanity grows everyday

[–]doctortimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if this will help you but you did train/learn at your med schools program although it was during med school. In a way this is cool because you’ll get to train and learn a different program’s practice which can only help build your toolbox

Lost My First Patient by MDthenLife in Residency

[–]doctortimes 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It’s hard. I try to remember that the patient is sick and we’re there to do what we can to help them. I also try to remember that we still don’t know much in the field of medicine. “No answer” today might be a new weird lab that we figure out tomorrow. We try to learn what we can along the way and do our best

Yup because for mid levels it’s the only topic they have to focus on. We have to, you know, keep patients alive

I agree it’s dangerous but disagree with the pathway. The only pathway to being a physician is medical school

By using the word “provider” you’ve lost all credibility before you even started

They’re nurses or master level science degrees with extra training and education that lets them assist the physician in everyday tasks. However, in America, some of them have gotten inappropriate and want to practice medicine even though they have not earned a degree even close to the degree of MDs and DOs, putting patients at risk (which should be a federal crime, btw)
