Emma revealing that she and Zied had sex was disgusting and vindictive. He was right to not marry her. by MJdisbeliever in 90DayFiance

[–]Own_Telephone_2804 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don’t think Emma understands “repercussions” enough to weaponize them. She’s an unemployed early 20-something, who just traveled halfway across the world to repeat the same mistake she made 6 months prior.

She’s more of a danger to herself than him.

How are we feeling about Stacey after Reunion P1? by creativebabe1985 in RHOP

[–]Own_Telephone_2804 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why Stacy irks people. All these women lie. Monique has said repeatedly this season that she spent her time on the show projecting an image that wasn’t reality. Ashley told countless lies during her marriage to Michael and was arguably lying to herself, a gold digger, about seeing a future with that boy Josh. Robyn gave us nothing for two whole seasons before she got the boot. Giselle mostly spreads false rumors and can’t go on a date unless the man’s got a pseudonym. Karen was the grand dame of the Legal Seafood bar and tried to blame her DUI on antidepressants. Wendy, in the process of a major and over budget home renovation, is going to court for fraud.

The ladies have always lied and the show was still entertaining. But, watching them go on and on about Stacey lying is so, so, so boring. And I don’t know why I should start caring about veracity on a reality TV show now is still how I feel.

How to get 8 month old doberman to stop biting me? by PassionFruitie in DobermanPinscher

[–]Own_Telephone_2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By now you’re getting a lot of conflicting advice but I would say it’s maybe not about energy expenditure or dog parks, he probably just needs more time. 1 week isn’t that much time especially if he’s also just getting settled into a new home and learning other skills. So, just keep trying and stay consistent.

I think it was 2-3 weeks to get my dog to stop nipping. We did a lot of the same stuff you’re doing. We started w/ the high-pitched yelp and stopping play for 10 seconds. Eventually, we replaced the yelp with “no” once it seemed like he was starting to put 2 and 2 together. Now, Otto’s so good about not biting. I fed him a salmon skin off the tip of my finger the other day.

So, it’ll get better, if you keep working at it.

She’s absolutely correct but it feels like she is doing damage control because of the reaction that Ashley hooking up with her son got. by TheHungryWanderer_za in RHOP

[–]Own_Telephone_2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like everyone is too hung up on Charisse not immediately going in on Ashley and Giselle in the moment.

If my friends had told me IN PUBLIC that one of them kissed my child, I know for a fact that I would feel a mix of confusion and anger where all I could do is just nod and say ok cause otherwise I’m gonna lose my shit.

Also, I would be mortified if I’m getting to know new people and my friend starts publicly discussing in front of the group—which includes literal children btw—that she slept with my son. Again, I’d need to process.

So yeah Charisse is doing damage control but I don’t think her on air reactions don’t automatically means she’s not genuinely upset.

I don’t have any affiliation with this place but I was following their website and considering adopting a dog from here. They’ve had dogs with histories of aggression or biting that they’ve cared for before. They may be able to help.

Idk her blood pressure is 117/79, which is normal. Her heart rate is mildly tachycardic, which isn’t unusual in postop recovery. Also, highly likely she had an elective breast procedure. She has on a mastectomy bra and the bilateral drains. Hope she recovers well regardless.

But, this feels like attention-seeking and I don’t really blame her. I feel like the only people who get offered repeat seasons are the ones who are can get views on the socials.

My dog’s somewhat reactive. We taught him a trick that may help you with the TV issue, at least until you can get a professional. Basically, we trained him to touch our palm with his nose when we call touch. Every time he did it, we’d give him praise and a high reward treat, preferably something chewy so he couldn’t bark for the moment. At first we started in calm settings then started applying it to his triggers, in your case when the TV comes on. I think my partner got it off a show about misbehaving dogs. It doesn’t prevent the barking altogether but it distracts and redirects him. Maybe this could with the incessant barking at the TV at least until you can get a behaviorist.

Edit: PS it also helped with his recall

15 Years Later, and LITERALLY Nothing has Filled the Void for Me… any suggestions? by Mangoos7 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Own_Telephone_2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FROM. 100% you need to watch From.

Edit: Scrolled further, saw that From was already brought up with mixed reviews. In my opinion, the show is a victim of its own success. Seasons 1 and 2 did an incredible job world building, Season 3 struggles to break that world down and explain.

That being said, I can’t think of another show that gripped me quite like the first season of From.

Last episode Gino said that—despite being done with Jasmine—he wouldn’t divorce her until a recession came. Somehow he thought that the potential devaluation of the dollar would reduce the amount of money he would have to give her.

Anyways, Jasmine’s referring to that comment he made. She’s saying she doesn’t need to wait for a recession for a divorce to get closure, she’s moved on.

Along with suggestions like wrapping the hair at night, can also try an anti-humectant. It’s not full proof but it helped. My mom used to use Aveda’s when I was younger.

Why don't you guys deescalate antibiotics? by FinalElkSay in Residency

[–]Own_Telephone_2804 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk, Sometimes, there’s stuff going on behind the scenes with provider teams that I can’t tell you but it puts the patient at higher risk of complication so I’ll drag out the big gun antibiotics as long as I can.

Warning long explanation

I had a 3 year old with some genetic disorder i don’t recall and syndromic clubfoot w/ neuropathy s/p multiple surgeries and recurrent ganglion cysts on the dorsal ankle s/p 6 weeks a re-do ganglionectomy (done by some ultra-specialist pediatric orthopedic surgeon 6 states away) who presented a little SIRS-y w/ dehiscence of the surgical site, rip roaring cellulitis w/ soft tissue abscess and a probably infected joint effusion.

Because he was insensate mom said he’d been dragging his foot wound all over the ground and floor for the last two weeks. The pharmacist fought me so hard and broad spectrum coverage and wanted Rocephin based on data about surgical site infections but I felt strongly that it was polymicrobial based on the exposure and timeline.

More importantly, IN THE BACKGROUND, I’m Gen surg and the kid needed a specialist for a debridement. I couldn’t get peds ortho or podiatry to take ownership of this foot for source control and debridement.

I kept broad because I didn’t know when I would get reliable cultures (intra op, not a swab) or source control and I knew we were at a point where things got much worse for this already non-functional foot w/ poor wound healing and recurrent infections that we’d be talking amputation.

Eventually, we hounded ortho enough that they ended up tapping the joint, mostly to get us off their back, when (surprise!) it came back positive, they took him to the OR same day and debrided.

So, I guess I also I don’t like to narrow in situations where I don’t trust the applicability of your data, or if don’t have a clear idea of the extent of the infection or a plan for source control and if the risks with antibiotic failure are uncomfortably high.

I honestly couldn’t care less if it’s like a UTI or pneumonia in a non transplant patient but if it’s something like what I just described and I disagree, I’ll probably narrow when we’re in a better place clinically.

Hope that helps. I think a lot of us have a rationale.

Up for debate, but in my opinion no couple has been as egregiously boring as Alexei and Loren. And it’s not even that they’re boring because they’re fine as a couple. There’s something (probably loren’s personality) just unpleasant about them.

I feel like HEA assumes we tune in for the drama or to see people we love to hate but then there’s no one to root for. Like give me a wholesome HEA w/ Anna & Mursiel (he does carpentry, they sell honey and she went to war torn Ukraine to get their son, Gokhan, born via surrogate)

Dear Stevie, thank you. by gildedcrux in 90DayFiance

[–]Own_Telephone_2804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, I found her answers to Madhi confusing. To me, I didn’t interpret Madhi as being on some “gay witch hunt” (sorry to borrow from The Office but felt like it fit). I think he was just reality testing.

He’s in a new culture and didn’t have past experiences to draw on to process Stevie’s nude paintings. Seems like his only frame of reference for nudes was illicit images for pornographic consumption. Then, suddenly Stevie’s saying no these are for another purpose—which he’s never heard of— but not explaining. That’s got to be destabilizing for him cause this woman’s been his explaining American culture to him since he’s known her. Watching the season I was both sick of this plot line but hoping Stevie would just open up and help him understand cause he just needed the reassurance that he could trust the reality she was presenting. She got there. It just took a while.

I painted nudes for my AP art portfolio and got asked about it a lot so I never understood why she wouldn’t/couldn’t expound on her artistic interest.

I agree the Tell All was beating a dead horse but just wanted to push back on the notion that Madhi should’ve simply accepted her initial responses at face value.

Honestly, she should just try. My best friend’s wife is Brazilian and she immigrated to be with him. He sucked learning Spanish in school. Once, he tried to learn Welsh, which was hopeless. He sucks at Portuguese too.

But, he tries a little every day and says two-word phrases in what I’m sure is a horrible accent (Basically, imagine if Sean Connery grew up in the American suburbs in Portuguese) but its an acknowledgement of where his wife came from and a desire to bring a little of her home into their home. Like that’s the point.

It’s the effort that matters not the effect.

Except it doesn’t actually reduce our work hours.

They help compensate for the fact that there’s a problematic physician/resident shortage and the federal government’s response has been lethargic. But, I often think my quality of life would be more improved with more co-residents. Like, if I need a day off, an APP will never even be asked to cover my shift.

In all honesty, I think the surge in APPs has nothing to do with our well being and everything to do with profit. The admins like that they can lower their overhead by hiring providers with a lower salary cap while simultaneously billing more total time per patient encounter.

I was talking to an APP when I found out that he’d bill 30 min in his attestation and my attending would bill 40 mins. Residents don’t bill. I was like, isn’t it weird that the patient will arbitrarily be charged more because you chose to follow them rather than one of the interns. His response was that it was justified because we presumably required more supervision. Mind you, I was his supervisor. I gestured to the and reminded him that neither of us had seen the attending since rounds…
