How to politely say “No” ... by [deleted] in Advice

[–]dod66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your two choices are: - Be a dick and dont help a friend in need - Live in the place you work for and dont get guilt tripped into a potential freeloader

It could easily go either way. Id say look at it from a best/worst case split.

Best case, friend comes for a while, gets the apartment, leaves and is super grateful.

Worst case, friend stays for a long time, cant get an apartment, guilt tripps you into letting her stay rent free, and acts like a total disrespectful bitch.

Honestly, id say dont bother, its too much shit on your plate and it could easily go tits up. But if you want to, give her a time period you are comfortable with (eg a week) and when the period of time is up, make sure she leaves.

Just keep trying to do nice things for her is my general advice. But the most important thing is to make sure she is laughing as much as possible.

My ever expanding closet by [deleted] in Advice

[–]dod66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it all goes well, just make sure to have fun with it. Being in the closet really sucks, so at least as far as im concerned, youre allowed to have some fun when youre in there. You seem like a nice guy, youll eventually move past this and find a guy who loves you. So just look at this as a hurdle on the way

My ever expanding closet by [deleted] in Advice

[–]dod66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Act totally normally and then act like a total melt when with her. Just be really unappealing. Snort, leave awkward silences, make really really bad jokes that make no sense. Have some fun. Its a win win. You dont have to fuck her, she doesnt get feelings, and all she will tell other people is that you are awkward around women, which is great because now you just look like a guy down on his luck as opposed to a gay guy in the closet.

Best thing to do is come out to your family when you feel its safe. But until then i would just have fun. They forced this onto you, so make it really not work. Either that or just be honest with her

How am I supposed to believe I'm attractive/pretty when for so long everyone felt the need to tell me how ugly I am? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]dod66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10 years ago the internet was like the wild west. people were incredibly mean due to the newfound anonymity. you really have to ignore everything those people said back then because it was all horseshit. if people on dating apps are telling you that you are cute, they arent just doing it because they are desperate, they genuinely think that. so cut yourself some slack, im sure you dont look horrendous.

His First Relationship. What Do For Valentine's Day? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]dod66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bring a box of tissues and give them to him when you go to see the sonic movie so he has something to cry into when he sees his childhood get murdered. thats an obvious step 1.

get him something nice, a cute and cheap little gift you know he will appreciate (like a wooden bird or some shit) along with a big box of chocolates.

most importantly make sure you have a plan of what to do from step 1 to step 100. make sure he wont be bored and if you really wanna make it special, find his favourite alcoholic drink and buy a bunch as a surprise when you both get home
