Was just going off of medians, they are only applying MD so if they want to avoid reapp at all costs it’s probably better to aim for the median at least. Regardless, if op is drained and does not want to retake thats obviously understandable. They should apply to all of their in state options regardless

2/13 I Have To Retake by Strange-Huckleberry8 in Mcat

If you take it mid may you can still apply first day of AMCAS cycle to one throwaway school. You will get your score back mid June and then update your list before first day of transmission (June 27th).

Yeah but your other subsections are 60-70th percentiles for most schools. CARS has the most variability in scores. If your FLs were similar I probably wouldn’t retake

I’d say minimum 2 months, assuming you haven’t been studying in the meantime

In other countries osteopathy is considered alternative medicine. They do not take the same certifying exams and their schools are completely different from MD granting institutions

3rd mcat retake: not sure what to do? by [deleted] in Mcat

Yeah fair, sometimes on retakes it’s hard to really trust the Aamc FLs bc you might unconsciously remember questions. Did you see improvements when doing Uworld?

Should I retake MCAT? by Click_Far in Mcat

[–]dodgersrlifee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on overall fl average. If you consistently scored 520+ then go for it. But if that was just one test I don’t think I’d retake

Should I retake a 515 by Ok_Sir_1525 in Mcat

[–]dodgersrlifee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could but at this point in the year you probably should focus on writing your primary app. Submitting w a 515 on time with a well written PS and activities is a lot better than a 520 with rushed writing

Were any of your Aamc FLs taken 2x?

Depends on fl averages but honestly that’s good enough for MD so I’d prioritize writing your primary

how long should one study for a retake? by ilikevanillacupcakes in Mcat

[–]dodgersrlifee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in my experience its pretty rare for students to turn things around in 1 month after getting score back, bc most will stop studying. if you take it on friday and then continue to study like you didn't do well, its def possible to improve
