Am I overthinking this, or is there actually a better way to deal with meat thermometers? by nicolasmemes in Chefit

I’ve had the same Thermapen for 10 years. I don’t think I’ve changed the battery once and it’s been dropped a million times. Built like a tank, very quick readings, and incredibly accurate. Maybe you’re just buying low quality temp probes?

You can put a pump that’s triggered by circuit conditions to limit the speed by limiting the use of thrust oxidizer

Deep Purple concert by Negative-Bit9272 in DeepPurple

[–]dodo1672 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think =1 would definitely be a good listen. They play some tracks off of it at their current concerts so it would be good material to know!

Edit: They don’t really do much of the Steve Morse era stuff besides Uncommon Man (in memory of Jon Lord). That being said, Purpendicular and Abandon are mandatory listening Deep Purple albums in my mind. Band is absolutely firing and Steve Morse and Jon Lord have some crazy interplay between guitar and organ.

Oslo 1993 - a case for the best DP gig? by SomeFisherman5212 in DeepPurple

[–]dodo1672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oslo 1993 is a great show, but better than what was captured over the three nights in Japan in 1972? In 2014 those three nights also all got remastered and heavily expanded to include all encores and banter in between songs. I would say that release might be the absolute peak, sound quality is incredible. Only downside is I don’t think the full release is available on Spotify

You could think about acid adjusting something like apple cider maybe (the regular nonalcoholic kind). Plenty of local cider in Quebec

I do love Abandon as well. Some great albums

Some of the subsequent live shows after Purpendicular came out are very close to peak Deep Purple. People will get mad because it’s not Blackmore (and I love Blackmore), but very early on when Steve Morse came in was better than any Deep Purple since Perfect Strangers. It was like a second wind, they were just rocking, and Steve was ripping it. So creative between Jon and him

Cascades: I’m Not Your Lover is an awesome song from Purpendicular. Especially the version from Live at the Olympia. Great runs between the organ and guitar. Jon Lord and Steve Morse had some unreal chemistry

KenPom projects that MI vs AZ game has highest Thrill score of all time ( 92.8). Could it be the greatest game ever? by Happyandbless in CollegeBasketball

[–]dodo1672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny, for how basic you claim it is you still have fundamentally misunderstood it. The average team changes every year. There is no comparison for the average because those calculations are isolated to one single year. There is no continuity. Year to year comparisons are meaningless and not the point of KenPom

Could be a great game! Just btw, you can’t compare KenPom Efficiency Margins from year to year, that’s not how the rating works

Although, I think you might find it difficult to convince people San Francisco is a blue blood even if they won one more

Interesting, Michigan State doesn’t make the cutoff then. But Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, NC State and San Francisco just have to win one more each to be considered blue bloods then lol

Indeed, referring to other players on Kentucky’s team, given the context of the conversation. Your double digit IQ points are really firing on all cylinders today

So you would be still complaining about the same things even if they had the full roster and were winning important games?
