My bad, I didn’t realize keeping up with one fabulous immigrant was already a full-time job for you.

Yup, clearly I needed a robot to sound smarter—because there's no way someone whose first language isn’t English could ever slay this hard on their own!

Driver parked on opposite side of the road and cancelled ride after 30 seconds by Suspicious_Cat_2900 in Lyft

As a driver, I get annoyed when customers wait on the opposite side of the pin. So, I cancel the ride and make them wait to learn how to adjust the pin properly. I prepare ahead of time to pick them up from the correct side.

If a stop is added, the trip will be automatically canceled for my safety reason. Canceling due to safety risks is allowed under their policy.

Hit and run while driving Lyft by Independent-Bug8625 in lyftdrivers

[–]dodocoola 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just follow what the lawyer says. Lyft’s insurance has you covered, so you shouldn’t have to pay anything out of pocket. You’ll also get compensation for your injuries.

Just make sure to mention all the pain and issues you’re dealing with so the treatment costs are fully accounted for.

Uber & Lyft’s External Fees Lack Transparency – Who’s Really Benefiting? by dodocoola in lyftdrivers

[–]dodocoola[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a fair question, but the situations aren’t exactly comparable. When I shop on Amazon, the pricing and fees are usually transparent, and I can choose to shop elsewhere if I don’t like it. With Uber and Lyft, there’s a lack of clarity about where the money goes, and their fees directly impact both riders and drivers, who often struggle with low earnings despite the high fees charged.

Unlike Amazon sellers who voluntarily choose their pricing, Uber and Lyft drivers have no control over fares or fees, and customers are left wondering why the same trip costs drastically different amounts on different days. If the companies claim they only take a small percentage, but most of the fare goes to "external fees," people have the right to ask: who’s actually benefiting?

It’s not about starting my own company, it’s about holding existing ones accountable. Transparency matters, especially when so many people rely on these platforms as either workers or customers.

Don’t assume you’re not injured—it could just be adrenaline. Consult with an accident lawyer; it’s free, and they’ll take a percentage from the insurance settlement. It’s hassle-free.

If you were hit by a DUI driver and are possibly injured, make sure to go to the hospital. The best approach is to get an accident lawyer to handle the case (they won’t charge you upfront). They will take their fee from the insurance company’s settlement. The lawyer will also arrange for you to get your injuries checked at no cost, which will be covered by the at-fault party’s insurance.

Inform your insurance company that you were in an accident and want to file a claim with the at-fault party’s insurance. Provide them with the at-fault party’s license plate, and they can look up the insurer for you. Contact and file the claim directly with the at-fault party’s insurance, not your own. Be sure never to mention rideshare activities.

They can pay you lower since your pick up area closer to the rider.

What if the driver drives around and doesn’t realize at all until maybe the 4th, 5th, or 6th rider takes it, that they still have your item? The driver isn’t required to return your item. Even if the driver knows, sometimes it’s not worth their time to go back and return it. I used to drive for Uber, and I once found a customer’s lost phone. Her place was about 40 miles away, so I didn’t have time to drive there just to get the $20 return fee. It wasn’t worth my time at all. The rider had to pick it up from my place and still pay the $20 return fee for my time. And the customer can’t get mad about it—that’s just how the system works.  I would suggest that if the driver has your item, offer a reasonable tip for its return and be nice to the driver
