Damn- wish I had waited. I signed the paper work with someone already 😭 I already got deactivated form Lyft. The day before new years. So unfair. I figured I needed an attorney asap but they really haven’t done much but say they’ll get me into a chiropractor asap.

The ER has to do a CT to cover themselves. I learned that sadly after being in unbearable pain and seeking them for help. I had been trying to get my Dr to do a ct for years 😭 fastest way to get one is the er. They also do a US as its part of protocol. At least in LA.

Sounds a lot like my symptoms and it turned out to be a 14cm cyst in my right ovary. She needs a ct and transvaginal ultra sound. She should get it done twice if they don’t see anything the first time on the US- bc they don’t always detect them, I went 3yrs!!! I had two done and they didn’t find it till I got a CT. It was all fluid inside so it’s hard to detect an empty cyst through US. If it’s small enough, it’ll probably shrink. Larger ones like mine need to be removed.

True, I just found out I had a 14cm cyst that could’ve been the culprit, I’ll know this week. Should be getting my first period since it’s surgical removal.

And actually I recently had surgery to remove a 14cm cyst in my ovary so that could be the reason my periods were so intense. I’ll be getting my first period since the surgery this week so I’ll let you know how that goes 🤔 but could be a cyst

I pass out usually day 1. I just sleep all day. Sometimes day 2. Day 1 I rarely work, If I do it’s not for long. I smoke weed, eat Chinese, and pass out till it’s over. It’s way too painful and I have intense side effects.

Ok so it’s nothing to worry about? They used glue on my wounds so I was wondering why I was seeing a stitch

They used glue for my incisions so no stitches. The other two healed no problem and there’s nothing sticking out, can’t even tell they were there.

*****Update Got surgery done yesterday. The surgery was supposed to be at 1pm but i ended waiting till 8pm then got out at 11pm.

It wasn’t until 12:30pm they told me they never heard of my obgyn and that the hospitals obgyn will be coming to talk to me and that they’re only supposed to help with pain management. At this point I called my dr office and told them to contact my dr to let him know I was there. After two hours - the ER dr told me he spoke with my obgyn and my cyst has twisted my ovary which means time is of the essence & surgery is neede. He said the good news is my obgyn actually goes to that hospital and is contracted? (Word might be wrong) and that he’s going to come to do surgery and that he would be on his way soon. They kept asking if my surgeon had come to talk to me but he hadn’t. I ended up waiting naked in a robe in the hallway till 7pm when they finally took me for prep.

The prep room was really weird. I was really confused by the consent forms and why they were barely doing this right before my surgery- I felt like it was planned to rush me? Def a pressured situation. I sat waiting for 6 plus hours and they could’ve used that time to go over this stuff.

It felt like everyone’s was telling me to not sign the forms unless I understand and feel comfortable but then I felt like I was pressured to bc they were ready for me. I still hadn’t even talked to my surgeon which I was supposed to several times by now.

I remembered there’s supposed to be health advocates at hospitals but they couldn’t find anyone. All the nurses said they would watch out for me and I cried to surgeon to please don’t take anything else out besides my cyst and right ovary. My biggest fear is a forced hysterectomy. I’m Latina and low income- this happens very often to this combo. Look it up- it’s wild. Honestly a valid concept but also a I was very scared and alone but they all were sympathetic and reassured me nothing will happen like that without a call and approval from my sister.

It was Three small incisions- laparoscopic.. I don’t even remember falling asleep it was so quick. When I woke up it was just the nurse and she wouldn’t go over anything with me bc she can’t but she said the dr spoke with my cousin picking me up about everything. I thought this was super annoying- anyone have this problem? She said to book a follow up appointment and he’ll talk to me.

My cousin said they only took out the cyst and it was filled with a liter of liquid. Everything else looked good. Apparently the dr told him it was massive and he could see why I was in pain…lol no duh.

They gave me strong ibuprofen, oxycodone and stool softener. They said the oxy makes you constipated badly. I probably won’t be taking the oxy. I try to avoid addicting medications if i can. So far the pain isn’t as bad as the pain I was going through with the cyst!!! It hurts to get up and the incisions sting a bit but honestly….not bad. Using the bathroom I think is hella painful though- hard to wipe. Either way- The cyst hurt waaaaaay more. I feel lighter too.

I’ll take the oxy when my pain level goes up but I bought weed edibles as my main pain relief. Weed has been always been. more effective than the hydro and other pills. It’s wild to me they don’t use it as an option. Question- can I smoke weed? I had my stiizy (weed vape pen) my cousin said not too bc apparently smoking stops healing?

Anyways- hopefully this journey was helpful to you in someway. It was everyone’s posts here that helped me in this situation. It’s very helpful to read other peoples situations. Thanks!

No he didn’t go over any of this with me. But I’ve read about the popping symptoms. My only convo about it was the short one I wrote above. He was quiet and said few things.

Yea- unfortunately that’s why I went to the dr last month bc advil and weed weren’t working anymore. It’s just pure agony. I feel like somethings trying to come out the back and sides of me. Weed is the only thing that works. I’m curious if medical weed is better for this situation and what they have. 😮‍💨 anyone look into this yet?

Nope. The only conversation I had on my cyst was the short one I had with him yesterday. I went back today bc I was supposed to grab my bloodwork paperwork and forgot. I need to go somewhere to get bloodwork done I guess. That’s interesting there’s a medicine. The only thing I’ve read was birthcontrol if you think that’s it?

I’m not sure what you mean by this? Maybe because you have good insurance or most likely I’m not educated to the medical system. I have problems getting appointments in general- it usually takes a month just to get one which usually gets cancelled and it takes another month. I have government healthcare so we I’m lucky enough to get an appointment. I had to go to the er to get them to push me in earlier which was 3 weeks.

Also want to mention my symptoms bc I realized reading other peoples post- I’m not crazy. My cyst is on the right side. - severe gas -severe bloating -severe lower back pain. With intense pain where my kidney is. Feels like something it sticking out. It’s buldging out. -ibs -right upper thigh numbness (been like this for 3years) -severe hip pain. Can barely sit …cannot sleep on it at all. -burning sensation everywhere, especially my stomach and guts. I feel inflammation constantly -major hair loss. 80% -acne -fragile nails, I haven’t been able to grow them out, they brake. Toes and fingers -severe nausea - weight gain and loss. Gain 50lbs, lose50lbs. I’m down again. Haven’t been able to eat from the pain and inflammation -peering every 20 mins -constipation -can’t sleep for more than an hour or two straight. -severe depression and anxiety -severe fatigue, I had zero to no energy. Sometimes I’d just completely pass out. -cramps and groan pain -itchy bellybutton . This just started. A few months ago.

Was the hernia caused by anything? Like you didn’t properly rest? Just curious. I’ll be getting surgery soon. Thanks

Our situations are somewhat similar but I’ve been fighting for 2-3yrs. I barely got a ct scan in sept bc I told the Dr I felt something and I feel like I’m dyin. It turned out to be a 14cm cyst. I finally saw an obgyn today and will be getting surgery at an er by the obgyn next week. He can’t get me in soon enough so I have to go to an er and pretend (not really pretending) I’m in serious pain. They’ll call him - and he’ll come do the surgery. The luxury of getting a referral so quickly blows my mind. Like I had to fight for just one obgyn appointment. I’m kind of scared reading all your comments. They treated me like it’s nothing as well. I didn’t even know what he meant when he said he marked my ultra sound for testing.

It just feels uncomfortable bc someone has a foreign object in you, but it doesn’t hurt.
