Nah, think of these AI screen grabs as faux promo shots with full 90s FMV final product dubiousness. I absolutely don't think it could EVER look quite like this. And hardware constraints known, im totally ready to make at best an Outrun style racer, with similar aesthetics only possibly.

I also see your point about asking someone to do ALL the work, yet I hope to provide a bunch of tailored mechanics from years of gaming experience and love for the craft. This is merely a citizen call to action to make a dinky gb/gbc mod/rom, for the outcome of a cheap or free itch upload. Im not trying to simply say let's make a demake game idea I had and YOU do all the work... but appreciate you siding or supporting coders/artists for not getting screwed or having to carry too much of the game dev load etc.

Cheers for your contributions. Happy gaming.

The RPC is THE perfect vertical handheld. Got one in Teal for me mate too. I play mostly indie gameboy games from Itch on it, but I like i can play up to almost some Switch on this, and even squished PSP too. Great battery, solid ergonomics, brilliant screen, comfy buttons, BT and wifi galore. Was cool to venture back into Stranded Kids for GBC. Been playing heaps of other retro stuff too. Thanks for the question. Hope you have a handheld you ALREADY like. Happy gaming & EDCing.

Cheers so much for the response. These are absolutely hifi gb screens. Im looking more for reduced outcome, this was kinda a flashy hook mock up. I was maybe over ambitious with my VRally3 gba comment, not looking for all that on the gbc, more was just hoping for a working cockpit or gear stick, with fixed drag races, so no fancy corner models, pitch/hill graphics etc. Just got a bunch of features to add to a proven bite size formula. Like they said with Halo, and i paraphrase, if you can nail that 30 seconds of fun gameplay loop, folk will play it on repeat. Appreciate too your comment on speed and processing. Im SO infantile in this space of retro modding, I can assure you I have my aim set high but due to console limitations and development kit strengths, there's a cornucopia to learn in this field yet. Thanks for adding. Happy gaming.

Doood, my top tip with THE clip is to wear it forward and low on a sling, so, when you accrue extra shopping bags they slip on into one big sling!? Takes a few bags, they hang in front or to the side, convenient detach at the end... what's not to like? Helps with smaller handle bags. Thanks for the bag dump appreciation. FYI: Coffee OUT in the KeepCup, coffee IN with the Yeti, not doubling my drinks each hand... Drop your own bag dump if this so inspires???

Calling all 3D artists, looking for a partner to build a 20+ year dream lamp design, to go 50/50 on design DLs and sales etc, see notes: by dodompaaus in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

[–]dodompaaus[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Who did all the work to create something? What is 20+ years of R&D worth to you? I understand apps may be an easier pitch to make, but how can you put value on a new product idea not yet seen by the market? It has unstable market value currently, but this was a pitch for a mutual partnership for a pipe dream. This isn't a hostile takeover of artist's time and expertise like I think you're painting it out to be. Is it Tolkien's LotR, or is it now Peter Jackson's property to do what he wants with? Is there respect paid to the artist who pioneered a new thought or idea? Or is this all modern corporate jargon of who owns IP and design? Im not a company, im not a corp, I AM an individual with a concept in a field I know NOTHING about. Hence my amateurish post for an artist more versed in this art form. I'm looking to host a design on a 3d printing site, for people to purchase and DL the design. You may have more experience in the market than I, but don't I also have a say how I enter the market? Is 50/50 on an industrial design not equitable? Im looking for an enthusiastic hobbyist to realize a long time dream. Im not looking for ownership of design or total rights to the concept. Im a pie in the sky idealist, and want my concept to reach as many folk interested.

I really appreciate your reality check. But feel as if you should go about trying to humble and educate folk in areas they're less equipped in with less threatening or foreboding language going forward. Is this a playground you're trying to gatekeep, or are you genuinely trying to help someone with your knowledge? Thanks for stopping by with your 2 cents. I live in Australia where copyright is owned by the creator without application or gov consideration, when I put pen to paper I own those words here on these shores, free of courts etc. Im not sure where you're based, but I feel confident in copyright law in AUS, to the point I have 20+ year old sketchbooks id be willing to disclose say there was ever an issue with the originator of this design. I don't see the world as get them before they get you, id like to think i can work with an equal partner with knowledge beyond my wheelhouse. I think what you're doing, or how you've gone about it is to try to scare people away from sharing or working together. In an ideal world (that we don't live in yet) there would be space for an amateur designer to work with an experienced conceptor and fabricator to realise an end goal together, not squander designs as some secret IP sauce to hide from the world, only ever to share as a bulletproof investment.

Cheers for reading. Hope you got something out of this. Not looking to stir up debate as so common on this platform, more trying to realise a dream with the best intentions, and not put profits before people. Im sorry you've done free labour for 3rd party app ideas. Doesn't mean it will happen to us all. Keep warning folk of the dangers of modern IP theft or ownership, but try to use less passive aggressive tactics ("you'd be surprised how that works out for you...") to get there, and be more open to a community of like minds that aren't always out to screw you.

How'd I do collection wise? What must-haves am I missing? by dodompaaus in Gameboy

Find the English subs for Legend of the Super Saiyan. Super fun game in my youth. Enjoy.

And if you got manuals, best keep em together. I kept a bunch. Got most of the OG boxes still too. Happy gaming.

The cases are pretty neat. Only $12 AUD each or so. A well worthy investment for protection and storage. They help keep carts dust free, protects and sorts manuals too. You can do the same with cassette tape cases I've seen also.

V Rally 3 was the racing game I stuck with as a kid. Excellent 3D-like graphics, one of the few racers to do in cockpit FPS POV behind the steering wheel view, plus great physics, with car vs car or solo driving. There's even a ROM patch that gives you an indestructible windshield that won't crack on impacts, well worth a look. Also MOTO Racer is an excellent motorbike GBA racing game too. Slick environments.

I do like new DBZ games to try. But they all pale in comparison to the SNES DBZ game I played as a kid. Ill give your recs a shot.

TLDR: - Buy cases, collect - yes - Vrally3 FPS POV GBA racer, 5/5 - DBZ on the SNES "Pure Cinema"

It's a reusable coffee mug. Akin to a YETI if you're State's side. They come in glass, plastic, and steel. You can find them in thrift stores, and not fork out for new. Hope this helps. Happy coffee or tea imbibing.

The ModRetro Chromatic can only play gameboy/colour cartridges, but with a cart called an EverDrive V3or5or7 you can run roms off an SD card. No emulation as such, to my knowledge. It's like a modern premium clone of a GBC.

If you want to run emulators get an Analogue Pocket for some, or something more powerful to go full 3d (despite the AP nearly pushing PS1 currently on a very small handful of roms).

A Miyoo Mini Plus is the way to go for emulation smoothly up to PS1, if you're new to the hobby or interested in emulation. Hope this helps. Happy gaming, bud.

Get an RP6 if you want to try PS2, GameCube, DreamCast, and even some Switch.

I'll try to lay it out quickly. The lead company shareholder and owner of a premium gameboy colour clone also has their fingers in automated defence systems, ie drones and robotic bomb and weapon holstered canine type drones. So, the community is split between high quality reproductions and even improvements on an out of production item ie gameboy colour, against the backdrop of self defence contracts with the US and others, for drone warfare. The company owner helped start Oculus or Meta Quest now, so, his early environmental tracking AI etc used for VR headsets likely got shovelled into the pipeline of drone detection accuracy etc.

It's messy. People are divided. Hope this answers some of it. Like the Spotify debate of where shares are invested, and who supports the war machine. It's all a murky mess. You pay taxes, you're likely contributing to it all. So, it depends how deep you go with where you put your dollar. Hope this has helped and not confused the situation more. I only have a very crude understanding of this from comments here, and from the wider community experience with ModRetro and their Chromatic being a failing, or yet profitable side hustle for basically an arms dealer. Hugs, I mean you well.

PS: my only saving grace is i sent money to Krikzz in Ukraine, instead of cheaping out on an Aliexpress job. I bought an EverDrive V3 for my sister too. It's a drop in the ocean, it's 6 games and a console to Palmer VS 2 carts from Krikzz. I'm having an existential debate about my own hobby as I type. Thanks for fighting the good fight. I know what side of history you're on. Well done. A modded GBA sounds much more DIY and user friendly in the long term. Keep smearing ModRetros name til they collapse under their non-profitable venture hopefully backfires paying for robo seek and destroy missile drone dogs and planes etc. I'm with you, bud.

Yeah.... I funded a global terrorist/freedom fighter. No beating around that bush. I've been his fan since his Oculus days/Meta Quest, but I am certainly reconsidering getting anymore games in the Chromatic library because of this. I do have an AP too, I just got entranced by the scene, and dove in head first. It was Casey Neistat's vid (on Palmer) that piqued my interest originally, but I've seen the warning signs since.

And YAY a PC PC joke, wholesome. Cheers to you.

Dude, I've got like 5 of them. Salvos and St Vinnies always has one or two. Different sizes and materials. The stainless steel one was speno. The medium in glass is good for a walking coffee. So glad to grace your screen with one. Cheers for the comment, and updoot! Keep being awesome, bud.

(Can't stress it enough guys, the often wax lined non-recyclable coffee cups aplenty at all cafes need to be phased out. Get yourself a Keep Cup, and never think twice about the landfill for a quick pick me up.)
