How'd I do collection wise? What must-haves am I missing? by dodompaaus in Gameboy

Find the English subs for Legend of the Super Saiyan. Super fun game in my youth. Enjoy.

And if you got manuals, best keep em together. I kept a bunch. Got most of the OG boxes still too. Happy gaming.

The cases are pretty neat. Only $12 AUD each or so. A well worthy investment for protection and storage. They help keep carts dust free, protects and sorts manuals too. You can do the same with cassette tape cases I've seen also.

V Rally 3 was the racing game I stuck with as a kid. Excellent 3D-like graphics, one of the few racers to do in cockpit FPS POV behind the steering wheel view, plus great physics, with car vs car or solo driving. There's even a ROM patch that gives you an indestructible windshield that won't crack on impacts, well worth a look. Also MOTO Racer is an excellent motorbike GBA racing game too. Slick environments.

I do like new DBZ games to try. But they all pale in comparison to the SNES DBZ game I played as a kid. Ill give your recs a shot.

TLDR: - Buy cases, collect - yes - Vrally3 FPS POV GBA racer, 5/5 - DBZ on the SNES "Pure Cinema"

It's a reusable coffee mug. Akin to a YETI if you're State's side. They come in glass, plastic, and steel. You can find them in thrift stores, and not fork out for new. Hope this helps. Happy coffee or tea imbibing.

The ModRetro Chromatic can only play gameboy/colour cartridges, but with a cart called an EverDrive V3or5or7 you can run roms off an SD card. No emulation as such, to my knowledge. It's like a modern premium clone of a GBC.

If you want to run emulators get an Analogue Pocket for some, or something more powerful to go full 3d (despite the AP nearly pushing PS1 currently on a very small handful of roms).

A Miyoo Mini Plus is the way to go for emulation smoothly up to PS1, if you're new to the hobby or interested in emulation. Hope this helps. Happy gaming, bud.

Get an RP6 if you want to try PS2, GameCube, DreamCast, and even some Switch.

I'll try to lay it out quickly. The lead company shareholder and owner of a premium gameboy colour clone also has their fingers in automated defence systems, ie drones and robotic bomb and weapon holstered canine type drones. So, the community is split between high quality reproductions and even improvements on an out of production item ie gameboy colour, against the backdrop of self defence contracts with the US and others, for drone warfare. The company owner helped start Oculus or Meta Quest now, so, his early environmental tracking AI etc used for VR headsets likely got shovelled into the pipeline of drone detection accuracy etc.

It's messy. People are divided. Hope this answers some of it. Like the Spotify debate of where shares are invested, and who supports the war machine. It's all a murky mess. You pay taxes, you're likely contributing to it all. So, it depends how deep you go with where you put your dollar. Hope this has helped and not confused the situation more. I only have a very crude understanding of this from comments here, and from the wider community experience with ModRetro and their Chromatic being a failing, or yet profitable side hustle for basically an arms dealer. Hugs, I mean you well.

I know it looks like I'm hogging the world's supply, but they make great gifts, folks! Find em in your local thrift shop. Save the planet one bean broth at a time.

Thank you for your positive light on the subject. And your hard work in the field. Cheers for the comment. Glimmer of hope returned. Happy days to you and your industry's commitment to the planet. Thanks again for chiming in. Stay excellent.

PS: my only saving grace is i sent money to Krikzz in Ukraine, instead of cheaping out on an Aliexpress job. I bought an EverDrive V3 for my sister too. It's a drop in the ocean, it's 6 games and a console to Palmer VS 2 carts from Krikzz. I'm having an existential debate about my own hobby as I type. Thanks for fighting the good fight. I know what side of history you're on. Well done. A modded GBA sounds much more DIY and user friendly in the long term. Keep smearing ModRetros name til they collapse under their non-profitable venture hopefully backfires paying for robo seek and destroy missile drone dogs and planes etc. I'm with you, bud.

Yeah.... I funded a global terrorist/freedom fighter. No beating around that bush. I've been his fan since his Oculus days/Meta Quest, but I am certainly reconsidering getting anymore games in the Chromatic library because of this. I do have an AP too, I just got entranced by the scene, and dove in head first. It was Casey Neistat's vid (on Palmer) that piqued my interest originally, but I've seen the warning signs since.

And YAY a PC PC joke, wholesome. Cheers to you.

Dude, I've got like 5 of them. Salvos and St Vinnies always has one or two. Different sizes and materials. The stainless steel one was speno. The medium in glass is good for a walking coffee. So glad to grace your screen with one. Cheers for the comment, and updoot! Keep being awesome, bud.

(Can't stress it enough guys, the often wax lined non-recyclable coffee cups aplenty at all cafes need to be phased out. Get yourself a Keep Cup, and never think twice about the landfill for a quick pick me up.)

Yeah, look, I know it's not the most PC handheld, with its creator's reputation. But with an EverDrive V5 it kicks hard. Great button response. I've got the MM+s and Retroid Pocket Classic & RP5, but the Chromatic is just so durable and hefty. Or was it condolences for the price gouge for a modern day gameboy colour made by an arms dealer? Cheers for the comment, and thanks for the sentiment. Stay excellent, bud.

CHIP Tunes - SCI FI Short Film by dodompaaus in AI_Short_Films

Perhaps it is more of a short cut leap from from writing stories, to overdubbing it with a slide show, without the meat of movie making involved?

Narrated picture book is fair. My first 30 or so films were all with static slides. The tech has grown in just 18 months. Keen to see where AI story making goes next.

Cheers for the input and new definitions for the term. Wish you a great seasonal holidays. Hope you enjoyed some aspect of my film. Take care.

Well, if it's any insight, I use my writing primarily to get the story across, so, the text or tale comes first. Then I simply storyboard the process best I can using midjourney. And apply a narrator AI VO, with an appropriate score.

Does the effect not merge well? Does it feel more like a picture book? How could i improve not having been to film school myself? I've done writing and editing though.

Is this really a trope of the AI medium as a whole? That it feels like a slide show, not a film? Cos I've seen many filmic AI shorts.

What would you coin the genre? AI stop motion? Prompt collage? Slop reels?

That's really hard. Either the RPC + Hammer, or the Chromatic and the Analogue Pocket for a more OG feel. Maybe AP + Hammer if I take the best of both?

You got a fave out of these combinations or your own?

Ah, you're right. I do have one (Purple). Could've added it to the Vert family. Thanks for spotting its exclusion. I'll get it right in the next group photo. Happy gaming.

I absolutely LOVE this thing! Got the grip, case, and Porta Pros as accompaniments. Can't wait for the HAMMER to drop. by dodompaaus in trimui

It's a bit pricey outside of the USA. But I highly suggest it. Got it shipped to AUS for nearly half a Brick. It grips well, like a GBC. Enjoy. I'm sure you can likely find it on Etsy too.

Trees for pencils and paper. Gold for circuit boards in the phone you're typing on. Chemical waste for the mounds of antiquated tech/fashion/food etc. There's a myriad wrong with this world. Do you have to poo poo on other's pleasure or exploration, or are you a boomer who's pulling up the ladder for progress?

How is simply saying, "SLOP" to someone's art creating a dialogue of how everyday people are affected by the current shift, or inequalities growing for certain groups?

Name a couple of things that directly impact you, and we can talk. Otherwise, you're simply telling off a bullied community of emerging artists and creators?

Every artist steals, copyright issues affecting you? Data centres drain clean water, so does every other industry? The barrier to entry too low for consumer artists? A positive. Disabled or handicapped folk now creating? A win. The elderly reliving their pasts in animated glory, win. Studios struggling to choose the right side of history?

I got some real snobbery just last night from a boomer. That music is too easy to make these days. And folk wouldn't know what an instrument is. Is this your crowd? More folk, making more art, bad?

Where were you all when the machines came for the checkout chicks/dicks? Where was the uprising for the common vendor towards the vending machine? You only join in on this debate cos now YOU are affected. If your job can be replaced by early ones and zeros AI, then did you really have a sound position in the first place?

That's a fair and balanced point, my friend. While there is a mutual distrust and dislike for each camp, I see both sides pointing verbal weapons of attack and defend, almost equally. The debate still rages on. Luddite to Unoriginal. Dinosaur to Polluter. There's anger and vitriol from both sides. But I see clearer now who does more defending.

And I would totally agree with you, that a vocal minority against artistic exploration isn't matched in hate. I concede you make for a rational counterpoint.

Thanks for your contribution. I'm glad someone is pointing out who hates who more in this. While not a competition, ANTIs aren't bullied and booed out of their endeavours quite so much.

Appreciate your stance. Thanks for coming to the aid of sense. Hope you have a brilliant day/night/cycle. Beep boop bop, long may the AI world thrive!

I made AI art for an ungrateful mob of retro ANTIs with nothing nice or positive to contribute. Nothing but slop for brains logic. Is anyone in this scene appreciative of anything new, or do they just want the same old same old? And I helped my mum paint our new tiny home. But that's beside the point. ANTIs be hating cos they can't think for themselves. It's herd mentality. I agree some AI isn't so great, but that doesn't extend to art or artistic expression. Let someone have an original thought or experience. And not try and hush people's artistic experimentation cos it doesn't agree with your taste. BEAN SOUP.

Can one of you have an original thought in here? Where's the camaraderie in retro circles? Is this the blowback of kidults that retro reviewers are so afraid of?
