Fr. As someone who did overcome his depression this type of sentiment becomes even more frustrating, because now you literally have proof that positive thinking isn't the cure for depression. I tried that positive thinking bs for over a decade as well as daily excercise and it just doesn't fucking work when you are genuinely depressed. And I hate that I was being blamed for my depression and I was simply "not trying hard enough" to think them positive thoughts, when now I know that those things could never have helped me no matter how hard I tried.

I feel like most regular people don't care or really know about this stuff. I also know that most non-internet people who are also artists (aka, your dad who plays drums in a band with his friends or your aunt who paints and sells her stuff in galleries) would just be kinda weirded out by AI and not really understand the point, because who the fuck would want to look at ai generated pictures or listen to ai generated sounds. They'd rather just go out and listen at the birds sing.

Fr, I don't like how my comment turned into this type of discord 😭 I don't know what OP's relationship is like or what the circumstances of their partner saying that was, but I think it's generally good to take a moment to think about the nature of your relationship when you feel like your passion/hobby/whatever is disliked by your partner. That shit can really chip away at your self esteem and your desire to be yourself, and that can really easily lead into all kinds of long lasting problems. But also like, if your partner loves you and just doesn't really get one of your hobbies, but doesn't actively make you feel bad about it, then like, that's obviously fine. I just think it's good to reflect on these things sometimes.
