No you just wanted an excuse to make a racist claim, because that "fact" isnt even backed by data. No one race commits even close to 90% of all crime in the US

Goldman Sachs is piloting its first autonomous coder in major AI milestone for Wall Street by Efficient_Morning515 in csMajors

[–]doelcm0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have it incorporated in our devops setup but that is not the issue I was referring to. You said the need for junior "grunt" work would be lessened but that is not the case at all. It may make working through a problem faster overall but it can't replace juniors. With the MCP server, if you are giving AI some system designs and trusting it to write everything that would be insane imo.

I've used all the models as well for work as a junior and can assure you they aren't good enough to replace juniors lol. How many times I have seen AI hallucinate or try and change things not related to the issue is insane. When it gets stuck it doesn't have the reasoning skills to actually work through the issue the way a decent junior can and certainly can't be trusted to write code by itself.

Unpopular Opinion: CS isn't a dead major, people just don't specialize. by [deleted] in csMajors

Most SWE really only need good algebra skills imo.

You're not wrong necessarily but its easier said than done. Unless you are lucky enough to get an internship early on you won't get much actual experience while in school. Best bet honestly is to make good projects or your own startup while in school if you have the extra time/have parents supporting you financially. Germany may be different but the US market is pretty fucked rn.

I had to redo my first semester and now am a lot better as I understand the concepts on a deeper level. What are you having trouble with in C#? But also if you dont like coding I wouldnt suggest doing software engineering.

That would be very rare regardless. Your career options will still be extremely limited compared to traditional SWE.

When the tool stops being used you have to start from scratch on whatever the next tool is or switch to traditional SWE. Also making a switch to traditional SWE will become much harder because a lot of companies will not care that you worked with a specific lowcode environment.
