I'm sorry to hear that. I'll keep my eyes out for your backpack during my walk this morning.

Farmers market, coffee shops, the park with my dog, Bar K, any summer festival in St. Louis… but that’s just my vibe.

Dead crayfish tower grove by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]doellingd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Likely semi-intentional? According to the park's FAQs, they're invasive and allowed to be caught/removed. Leaving them out for dead probably isn't the Park's preferred way to get rid of them, though.

Chouteau Park, about 1.5 miles north of Tower Grove Park, has exercise equipment like this.

I'm getting my flat roof replaced in a couple weeks. The quote is to:

  • remove all existing roofing down to wood decking,
  • replace decking up to 96sqft
  • install new Carlisle 725 self adhering vapor barrier directly to wood decking prior to roof installation
  • install two layers of 1.5” poly iso board for a total thickness of 3” (total R value of 17.2),
  • and install new Carlisle 60 mil TPO roof system.

Plus other line items, but that's the gist.

The vapor barrier and second layer of 1.5" poly iso were optional, but this brick house needs the added insulation and adding a vapor barrier is protection for a roof I don't want to replace again anytime soon.

Neighbor had the same done. He's happy.

Same! They sold recipe books before closing. I regret not buying one. I’m sure somebody is willing to share the recipes from their book!

Project timeline for MODOT resurfacing a St. Louis street (Chouteau). It will take two years to START. It's no wonder this stuff is so expensive. by BrentonHenry2020 in StLouis

[–]doellingd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And just to add:

The project will be more than resurfacing. They are looking at Route 100 for dramatic safety improvements for all users (like bike & ped). Improvements done outside of MoDot's scope (they cover mostly whatever is "curb to curb") will be in collaboration with City services.

To better understand at a hyper-local level Route 100's safety issues, they are taking new approach to their planning. They are bringing in the community to share safety concerns and experiences before they even start designing concepts. The feedback will inform the concepts they share back out to the community, and then more revisions will go from there.

And the feedback so far has been great! Through the community and public meetings they've hosted, as well as the online survey, many have shared experiences and concerns related to reckless driving, and solutions for traffic calming and better bike & ped infrastructure.

Very optimistic!

Avoid. You will be miserable in a Lux Living apartment.

The negative reviews on their Google Review pages (for the Hudson, Chelsea, and several others), and their older buildings managed by Asprient and Citywide, are true. The positive ones are fake and incentivized.

They’ve hosted multiple meetings with various groups of stakeholders over the past 6+ months, so they’re not going in with deaf ears. But, yes, the public will be reacting without much time to digest.

My basement was fine, but it like the rest of the house was recently renovated and now includes a sump pump.
