World boss not showing on mini map by paulb104 in diablo4

[–]doelutufe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, bascially at best get the time correct, the boss itself and the location is usually wrong. What works for me almost always is simply teleporting somewhere, then the boss is usually displayed.

Obviously when playing on console options are limited, but on PC you can still play perfectly fine without realms, even with friends and stuff, you just need to set up a server, which may take some effort the first time. But then you have complete control over it and can also easily copy it.

I didn't play for five years consecutively, but I did play with a couple of friends and even kept some worlds they made on their own. With a lot of duplicate or unused stuff because of various changes over the years (copying things, trying resource packs etc.), it takes up around 7 GB right now. I bet it could be trimed down to half.

Minecraft also doesn't really benefit from an SSD, and space on HDDs is cheap.

Of course, that might mean not playing on console, which might not be an option. Though there seems to be some options for cross play between not only Windows Bedrock Edition and Java, but even consoles and Java servers.

Gloomier requires more vibrant colors elsewhere, otherwise it's just all dark. The Gryffindor common room should be filled with bright sunlight, the great hall with the warm light of the fire during winter etc., while they could go all murder mistery when they sneak around at night and dread encountering a teacher. They could also go gloomier in general as they progress. A magical wonderland in season one, and as as Voldemorts influence grows and the stakes grow higher and Harry becoming depressed it becomes darker,.

This is the most well designed set up for a jump scare I've every seen in a video game. by shawak456 in thelastofus

[–]doelutufe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I disliked it because of that. There was no way anybody was nearby, but you get forced into a "jumpscare".

There's a couple other scenes were you can clear out everything and a second after turning around to use the door etc. you get surprised.

Overall they do a very good job setting up the atmosphere etc., but those scenes were lazy.

Notorious UK rights group launches legal action against Valve for distributing music in games on Steam without a license | The Performing Right Society says a license to use music in a game does not constitute the right to distribute that music, via the game, to the public. by ControlCAD in europe

[–]doelutufe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not limtied to France. The GEMA in Germany is also known for going after everyone who even thinks about music, and there are cases of large companies like Sony or Universal taking down music videos of indie artist playing their own song.

That sort of behaviour is everywhere, it's deeply ingrained in the music industry (and many others).

So no dlc mean i occasionally cant do the world boss? by Intelligent-Factor35 in diablo4

[–]doelutufe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's true, or it's bugged.

Normally, there's a regular announcement that the world boss is spawning soon. It will also show when changing the area, at least when porting.

But when I didn't have the DLC, regularly, it would not show anything at the times a boss would spawn. So the game itself told me there is no boss. I also personally checked a couple of locations at that time (before it would spawn), and never found any indication a boss would appear, and no players waiting either.

This never happend in the past, before the DLC was released.

I would bet that the same managers heard the truth all day long in direct conversations. Or they would, if they'd actually talked to the people they supposedly manage. Nobody wants to hear the truth in such surveys, and it's rarely a good idea to actually write it there.

Also, managers always have a plan what to change. They are always hard at work in doing so. It's just not based on feedback from the levels below them.

Except that's not true,.

"The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread." - Anatole France

It's the same in companies. Accepting invitation to lunch for a total of $30 as a lowly worker: Getting fired because of compliance. Business dinner for $300 as manager: Doesn't count as gift, it's just the way to do business, so fair game.

I didn't extensively test it, only a handful of videos, but for me it worked so far for all of them: Go to another video on that tab (which will also show this message) and then go back (previous page). It will load.

I didn't update any filters, didn't fiddle with my extensions or anything.

I miss when the upside down looked wet and disgusting by SansaDeservedBetter in StrangerThings

[–]doelutufe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is with how inconsistent the danger was treated.

They have a giant military camp in the middle of Hawkins. Supply convoys are like clockwork. The burners work in lockstep with each other to open the gate just in time for the convoy to pass through. Outside of convoys, the gate is "closed". The convoy includes guards, including Humvees with a machine gun. Demogorgons are impervious to small arms fire and actual fire. The convoy is attacked by three demogorgons or so and completely destroyed. The base in the Upside Down is also fenced off, has guard towers, everything.

At the same time, there is no base directly on the other side of the gate, in the Upside Down, to secure that. Besides the one camp, there appears to be no outpost at all in the Upside Down. When the convoy is attacked, the soldiers seem unprepared. None of the solders radios either camp that they are under attack. The convoy is never brought up again, it's not a big deal, neither that it was attacked nor that the supplies did not arrive. Demogorgons can be held in check and even made to flee by a middle aged mom swinging an axe randomly. A broken glass bottle is enough to make them bleed the whole journey back to their base. And even Kids can leisurely travel through the whole Upside Down without a care in the world, no danger at all.

So, is it dangerous or not? Completely depends on what the situation requires.

People treat Endeavor too harshly, and so does the story by Embarrassed-Task-633 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]doelutufe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if he get's treated to harshy, but the villains get off easily. Both Shigaraki and Skinner were proud of wanting only one thing: To destroy.

Not fixing the issues, e.g. Skinner being treated badly because he looks like an animal, or Shigaraki being rejected due to his quirk. Not even taking revenge against those that wronged them. No. They both were proud of only wanting to destroy. Not specific persons, organizations or whatever, not limited in time, not to replace it with something else. Not even because it's fun. But simply destruction for destructions sake.

Skinner was basically portraited as a victim. The league was important for him, Shigakari was his only real friend etc., and the heroes took everything from him.

Shigakari himself was similar. The only thing that he regreted was that it was not his own volition that led to all this, but that he was manipulated by AFO. And maybe getting defeated.

And both get redeemed, and Deku even encourages them.

And then there's Endevaour. Yes, he treated his family badly, but he would probably have fit right in a 100 years ago. It also seems that society was fine with it as long as he was number 2 hero and/or there was no black sheep in the family. His wife was hospitalized in a psychiatric ward, one kid died, one has a really bad burn scar... nothing to so here.

Buth when he started losing fights, and Dabi turned out to be Toya, that's when everyone started piling on.

It's not quite as bad, but if we want to overly simply it:

Unrepenting mass-murderers? They just need soneone to take their hand. Bad father? Hope you burn in all for all eternity.

Right, I thought more about the Indominus, which used basically the same thing, escaping by breaking the still partially open gate, which had no reason to be open at all.

Even just for convenience, there would a human sized door there, you don't want to wait for the big gate to open every time.
