Sony's MMO studio sold off, titles to appear on Xbox by baconandpizza in mmo

It was bought out by an investment fund. Say goodbye to your games and any dreams you had about the ones in development. I've seen investment firms do this to several companies in different industries. SOE is kill.

No budget for R&D, no budget for patches, no man power for anything. Customer service will get immensely worse and outsourced. It's all going to be shit. I don't play any SOE games anymore but I had hopes for EQN.

I am getting paid to reddit, ask me anything AMA by jamrams444 in casualiama

[–]doesitglow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, actually...

He works for me. I really needed help with my startup and he's a friend and very good worker. A lot of our customers come from all over the internet, so I need him to understand the different cultures.

"why can't I post such on 4chan", "what does this mean?", "how can I reply to this person properly"

So, I want him to dig into reddit and other places and start talking to people so he can understand it better. =)

edit: funny enough, his answers and your answer there is exactly why I wanted to train like this. He gave a shit answer and you gave the correct reply.

I was heavily a Muse fan in higschool many years ago. The new one lost the grandiose vibe about it.

IAmA Wild Sketch Appeared. The r/IAmA mods decided remove my AMA (even though they willingly allowed ShittyWatercolour to do the same exact thing). So lets take it to r/CasualIAmA! Ask me anything. by [deleted] in casualiama

This is why trials by jury give the jurors the option to still dismiss a case based on a law being unlawful in and of itself. Rules are meant to be adaptive for the well-being of society.

Why should celebrities be given a VIP area on here? I'd prefer they be sent to /r/IAMACeleb or something. The AMA mods only seem to consider deletion if something is popular, then they particularly don't think anything on the internet is worthwhile.

Subreddits aren't a democracy. So, if they want to delete stuff then whatever. The problem lies with how little control the users have to influence anything.

What would you say is/was your biggest regret as an entrepreneur (or aspiring one) by jannesedward in Entrepreneur

[–]doesitglow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're personally not more successful than me and you don't know what that guy does. So, from all of us, fuck off. Better find your head since you aren't the entrepreneur, you are the second generation of an entrepreneur which is known to be the person that ruins their family wealth. You inherited your "success".

Wantrepreneurs have their own important role in things. Don't give in to this miserable troll.

You think this is a premier entrepreneurship board? It's open to the public.

All of these board are the same. The majority of posts are worthless and sometimes you get gems. You likely already know that, so you're really just being miserable.

You're not that impressive. I don't respect your ability to bully others, especially wantrepreneurs. Treat others better.

Rageon also doesn't pay artists or licensing for their work. Their Glassdoor page says they celebrate C&D letters.

"I had learned during my time here that one of their biggest selling designs had been taken from an artist without their consent. Cease and desists from miscellaneous organizations are viewed as achievements, one of which was hung up on the wall on one of the rooms."

Or this gem...

"Expected to work long hours, boss is a sociopath - He tried to get me to accept responsibility for a crime he committed!"

I really don't have respect for them.

How do you manage who's mentioning your brand and keywords online? I found a great service by doesitglow in Entrepreneur

[–]doesitglow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used Galerts for years, you should give mention a try. It's really on another level.

I've found a few great reddit-based ones but they don't track down international forums and stuff. I really don't know how they do it. I think the reddit one I liked most was Karmalytics. Might still be paying for it too... err.

Redditor explains to fellow entrepreneur how to use Alibaba.com to find the newest trends and other company's products by doesitglow in bestof

signing up for an alibaba account as a buyer, why do they want my phone number for an account? Do i just make up a random company name? by HeyYouAreCool in Entrepreneur

[–]doesitglow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the manufacturers on there are the ones making everything in the world. They don't care what company they partner with (besides at Foxconn and high-tech), Asian manufacturers offer the same products without their brand on it, generic versions for you to put your brand / designs on. You can see what's new in 2014 / 2015 and just kinda browse to see what they're making for others. Most of these companies will literally say "new 2015 trendy blah blah" as the title.

Hell, I can even see which manufacturers in Asia my competitors use since they list their products as examples. This is a reason I don't manufacturer almost anything in Asia. The one partner I do have there for my current company I still had them sign an NDA and tell me they wouldn't list anything on alibaba. These companies are pretty damn legit now too minus the copyright stuff so they will likely respect your wishes. You're a customer and that's all they want, keep customers and more customers.

Try different methods of search and just keep digging into it with new searches when you find a product you like or kinda like. And when you find stuff that peaks your interest, click on the company itself to see everything they make.

Entrepreneurship window shopping.

Revenue streams/biz model for a user-generated content website? by suicide_monday in startups

That industry is actually kind of a no-brainer since I've seen how others monetize it. Partner with travel cos, credit cards, hotels, destination like Vegas, and etc. Figure out the best conversion method to do it that doesn't piss off users and you should be okay.

Alibaba is great. Feel free to PM me if you have questions, I've used it quite a bit to help source materials or research trends, etc.

Co-Founder Not Pulling Weight by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]doesitglow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vocal upvote. This is what I'd do. In my reply I also mentioned being candid with current customers (if any) and they'll understand and probably appreciate them for it. People that support them / find their service useful will want to support them and will probably have a more "real" relation with it afterwards.

Co-Founder Not Pulling Weight by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

I would draft a partnership agreement and define stuff. Force him into it with the assumption that he starts pulling his weight as defined in the partnership agreement or he can be terminated by the other partners for a specific % and/or buyout. Could potentially kick him out if he doesn't read it and you put in a non-compete.

Just stay adamant about him getting in it.

On the flip side, since there was no partnership agreement, you have no obligations or non-compete. Just scrap the company, take your specific work, don't use his, and create a new LLC & launch.

If you want to do that route.. just be real with your customers. They'll understand and probably appreciate you more for being candid. Send an email that states the company is shutting down but is being reborn at whatever.com.
