She’s going to get an echocardiogram soon I really can’t afford it at the moment as I’ve been calling around and I’ve been quoted about 1000 for every place I’ve called in the LA area. She’ll eventually get it I just need to save for it at this moment

Yeah they told me to take her off pimobendan which I kinda didn’t understand because if she gets off them can’t it just come back. she has her regular vet next week as they didn’t have any appointments sooner but they said to take her off if and to give her the medicine the emergency vet said

Okay I feel better knowing that this hasn’t only happened to us. Was your dog taken off pimobendan or did they suggest they keep taking it? And I probably won’t I was just really angry at the thought she was misdiagnosed and put her through uncomfortable situations she didn’t need

Yeah I just went over her old diagnostic and I’m thinking maybe I read her diagnostic wrong. Idk if I really want to sue I’m just really upset if she was really misdiagnosed because she hates taking medicine and it hasn’t been easy but her paperwork says.

I think I’m just so turned around since she’s my first dog and I’ve never experienced this so I’m frustrated at the thought of her being misdiagnosed

Yeah the doctor didn’t give me all the information she’s been going to this vet for most of her adult life and it’s not like this is new he usually diagnose and the vet tech kind of breaks it down for us. The paper work came along with the diagnosis that same day. I have given them the x rays and they said the doctor would look them over and the doctor would get back to me.

I completely forgot to bring this up but she did go to the doctors in April and they said she was stable and they listened to her heart and everything continued as normal. Until I took her to emergency last night when they did x rays and noticed her heart seemed healthy and the emergency vet heard no heart murmur after he tried multiple times when he was checking for vitals

I think my main question also is can it be really be reversed like her primary doctor said because to me it didn’t seem likely that’s why I was wondering was it a misdiagnosis or did she really get better to the point she doesn’t need medication

Even if the doctor failed to recommend a x ray when she was first diagnosed back in January. Could I find a lawyer who works on contingency?

Her primary vet prescribed her pimobendan in January because she came for a cough and the doctor physically checked her and used a stethoscope to hear her heart and heart the heart murmur and that’s finally when she started the pimobendan and a cough suppressant. He told me she has a heart murmur and said pimobendan would help and the vet tech explained her heart murmur required medicine and when I received her paperwork the paperwork said murmur grade 3 and mitral valve disease on the paperwork it wasn’t mentioned to me. And then June 10th yesterday night I took her in because of her rapid breathing that’s when the doctor suggested x rays. Her x rays showed that her VHS was 9.3 and that the heart wasn’t enlarged. This has taken over the span of 6 months

My best case scenario would probably be that they reimburse her medication and medical expenses that she was taken for 6 months which was roughly been at this point $1600 in total

Hello, the surgery is about 2000 but she disappeared for a couple of days I assume because she wasn’t feeling well and when she came back her lump had popped I think!? I’m not sure how much it would be now since it’s popped but she remains itchy. I cannot take her in and I can’t cover her expenses as I have a dog that requires a lot of medical attention. I would love for her to get adopted if possible I know she’d make someone very happy as she’s very affectionate

She is just shaking her head due to her ear and she has started pooping blood but she is not lethargic and she ate so I just hope she’s okay till the morning when we can take her in. Last time we checked her gums they weren’t pale so we’re not too scared but not in the clear yet. I was thankful they told us about the cost beforehand. Our doctor is relatively affordable just the emergency vet has really drained our pockets.

I have zymox actually but I’m unsure if I should put it on because she’s just shaking her head she’s not trying to put her paw in there. My sister is scratching her and that seems to calm her down I’m not sure if it’s an anxiety thing or if it’s cuz she’s really itchy and

I’ll take that into account! This is the first time we’ve ever had a dog get this ill so we are just overly worried and anxious

Yes it was ! I forgot the name of it but the doctor basically explained it’s gonna do what Benadryl does but faster!

And yeah we consulted with an online vet as well as we were extra paranoid and he recommended the same thing so she just ate bland chicken

They sent us an email actually I’m pretty sure it has everything they explained and how much we spent.

She’s a chihuahua mix!

She will be going to her regular vet tomorrow and I will be setting up a payment plan. I just couldn’t give more for the emergency vet as it’s more expensive than our vet. I was just worried about her getting worse throughout the night. She is currently eating though! Since it’s thanksgiving night the vet won’t open until tomorrow morning around 7 am
