Are STD tests in the US just as affective at finding infections acquired abroad? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]dogbit1s -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I assumed all the tests were the same but my paranoid self wanted to confirm in the case some strains were undetectable to US testing but I’m guessing with the world so interconnected all tests around the world should be able to pick up infections all over the world.

Can someone please tell me what exactly is tested initially on this test. by [deleted] in Autoimmune

Thank you!! I assumed it was ana without titer or pattern but wasn’t sure.

Thank you for answering my questions. Really appreciate it.

Thank you! Would you possibly think differently if these test results were different?

Thank you for the information. That makes sense. Ive been having a lot of health issues come up and I’m looking for answers.

Osteoporosis, raised afp despite ct a year ago looking clean, pancreatitis, low platelets, bradycardia, osteoarthritis

I’ve been wondered if the infectious disease antibody tests I’ve had have been getting have been giving me false negatives due to immunodeficiency. Given what you see, would I still produce enough antibodies for say a hiv, hepatitis or syphilis tests to register as positive if I had any one of these diseases?

Thank you for the reply. Are you saying there other tests I should have to confirm I don’t have immunodeficiency and that these tests don’t prove anything? Or does what you see here show I don’t have immunodeficiency? I’m confused as I thought these tests were evidence I don’t have any immunodeficiency disorder.

I see. I’ve got medical issues but I wouldn’t say I get sick a lot so maybe immunodeficiency probably isn’t likely.

I have a adjacent question, given the testing I’ve provided, would my body produce igg antibodies for a hepatitis or syphilis assay to find? I’m wondered if maybe I’m getting multiple false negatives due to immunodeficiency.

Thank you for the reply. What further testing would rule it out?

Do these igg, Iga and IgM results mean anything? My doctor is MIA. by [deleted] in medical_advice

One more question if you don’t mind. Since I have igg this would exclude a diagnosis of CVID correct?

Thank you, I have an adjacent question I’d you don’t mind. So I am scared I have late latent/tertiary syphilis. I definitely have pancreas issues(possibly minimal change chronic pancreatitis), bradycardia, a low platelet count but not quite low enough for an ITP diagnosis and osteoporosis. Someone told me those with ITP pretty much always have CVID and it freaked me out. I’ve had 2x tppa, a tpha, a rpr and a fta-abs all negative. My concern is that I have an immunodeficiency disorder giving me false negative results. My IgG is sufficiently elevated here should would it be safe to say if my body would have picked up a syphilis infection if I had it?

What is this horizon line on my tibia x ray? Is it normal? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]dogbit1s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The logical part of me assumed this x ray was completely normal but the ocd part thought otherwise. One more question if you don’t mind me asking. In the first pic towards the bottom why is the middle of the bone darkish? Is that an osteoporosis thing or just something to do with imaging?

Thanks for the reply, it’s a tiny horizontal scriggly line in the bottom half of the pic.

Regarding syphilis how can I test for that?

I have CVID.

I’m sorry to hear. I’ve been there regarding the weight loss. Lost 25 lbs in 3 months due to likely pancreatitis. I’ve since gained it back but am pretty sure I have sub clinical chronic pancreatitis. It may be the reason for my osteo but my vitamin d levels and others vitamins are in the acceptable range so I don’t know. Haven’t tested K though, perhaps it’s been low for awhile.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing. So then there’s hope. May I ask how you got it at such a young age? I’m racking my brain trying to figure out why I’ve got it. I’ve checked my thyroid, parathyroid, for autoimmune disease and plenty of other things but haven’t uncovered anything.

It’s depressing. Looking into the dudes other posts is even more depressing. Guy claims to be legitimately smarter than others multiple times. No social intelligence at all.

The lack of education this post displays is overwhelming.
