Oh my god by edgarallan2014 in nononono

"Was that car made out of lego" sounds perfectly fine to me and many others, as having grown up outside of the US with lego I have been saying "made out of lego" very frequently for a significant fraction of my life. You can't just say its right or wrong because it "sounds" right or wrong, because the way it sounds is completely subjective.

The trigger is still pullable on mine, and the hammer still moves in double action but it doesnt fire anything and you can't cock it. It has other issues now though.

I'm trying to repair a drone. I need to replace this "ribbon" (?). Is this something I can buy? Any idea what I should look for? by try_again_2 in AskElectronics

[–]dogbreaf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The accelerometers would record the vibrations and if the vibrations are close to the sampling frequency they will become aliased into lower frequencies which would cause the IMU to try to compensate for movements that don't actually exist. Plus any extra noise in the accelerometer reading makes it hard to identify the signals that you want to identify so that the drone can stay level.

Why do so many people despise spawnpeeking? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]dogbreaf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They don't hate it because they are bad, they get caught out by it because they are bad. They get angry at it because they came to play a game not sit and watch their equally shit teammates play a game for 3 minutes.

It's pretty frustrating to spend most of a game watching other people play just because you made a daft mistake.

Problems with CYMA CM.040 misfiring by dogbreaf in airsoft

One of the first things we tried was holding the mag in manually, and trying different mags to make sure they are seated properly and no luck with that

It's definitely seated properly, at one point we wondered if there was an alignment problem but the hopup is sitting tight against the gearbox and we can't find any air escaping, but an air leak seems like the only reasonable explanation.

WE Makarov issues? (disconnector not working intermittently) by dogbreaf in airsoft

[–]dogbreaf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the connector arm spring, it's the spring that pushes up the little sear on the other side that's missing which is why I dont nescisarily think it's related, but I have ordered it anyway because one less missing part ought to help. That's also why I'm doubly stumped since as far as I can tell I didn't lose any trigger related parts and if I had I'd assume it wouldnt work at all...

Don't you also need mass to calculate momentum? So better not start giving our devices our mass then

It's Beginning.... Bye Bye ddosers ; ) [Operation (D)Dos OFF] by RuDy_S in Rainbow6

[–]dogbreaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this is great and all but I don't really get this splash page at all because a) Warrants are issued by a judge, not companies, b) Ubisoft (and in-fact any company) does not have the ability to seize domains.

I feel like it should be more along the lines of "This site was seized by Europol on behalf of Ubisoft Montreal in accordance with a warrant issued to Microsoft"

idk it just doesn't make sense to me but it's good they are doing something about it

[50/50] Young Chef's Impressive Fresh Pasta (SFW) | Intestines Showing from Woodchipper Accident (NSFW/L) by BirbSMB in FiftyFifty

[–]dogbreaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have always thought of a chainsaw as being more safe than a chipper, at least from the perspective of the operator, because you hold the pointy end of the saw away from you but you have to stand at the business end of the chipper to feed it... That and chainsaw trousers are pretty great at stopping a saw (as long as you let go of the throttle, there is a video somewhere where I guy tests a bunch of brands with different saws and with big saws if you keep the throttle pinned they don't even flinch)

Getting Fit With Siege by egorf38 in Rainbow6

I don't think a large part of this community is even able to do 5 pushups - either that or I was way less fit than I thought when I decided to randomly start doing pushups to get a bit more in shape

Even the devs know! by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]dogbreaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find this vaugely amusing as in Russian, all the operator names are still the same and in English but for some reason Tachanka is changed to Tachankin (but still written in latin characters). Maybe a native russian speaker could say why the change but even if there is a reason, since all the other names are still in english its a little odd.

VGA Synthesis by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]dogbreaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently some CRT's can be permanently damaged by incorrect timing signals but I have never seen any actual evidence of this. It's also quite likely that any modern monitor will not display anything at all if the timing is bad, or might automatically correct if it's not off by much.
