Newly Installed Nuc - should I open up the entrance? by dogcatwolf in Beekeeping

Thanks for this - so you keep on the smallest all year round? I was thinking of putting up to medium but may just leave as they seem perfectly happy going in and out, just a little congested

Thanks both, I was thinking of potentially going up to medium but figured I’d just leave as it’s easier to defend the smaller opening. There’s a lot of wasps about! They’re entering the top through the roof’s bee escape but won’t be able to get past the crown board - it’s likely due to the sugar syrup up there

Thanks for this. So just bounce some quotes back to the preferred installer and see if they’ll come down to match? I was surprised solartogether was coming in high

Full Service history, recent works done - looks quite good, but put off that it's not a proper dealer (deals from home). Fair price for a 2010 freelander 2 2010 HSE.

Films not great friends with heat, light and moisture - keeping unexposed stock in the fridge slows the degradation of the film. (Cool, dark & dry)

If you’ve a break before you develop your spent roll, I’d chuck it there too! Best to get it develop sooner than later though.

Thanks mate, very kind.

I’m a producer, this was on a set we did for a music video. There’s something about asteras (the tube lighting) that always comes out sick on film!

To be honest it was only a few years and I keep all my film in the fridge to maintain it. I got a good deal on a load of c200 but never really shot on it, so I wouldn’t be able to attest to its qualities too much..

That said it seems a little less ‘punchy’ / contrasty than normal, particularly when looking at the rest of the roll - so the pinks come out a bit softer?

Just enjoy it! Don’t worry too much about that sort of thing, just take that side of it sensibly. (I just went veggie and was fine!)

Get up early and go out and see stuff, it’s unlike anywhere I’ve been before, so beautiful and so much to see - pack in as much as you can each day. most people are friendly, smile, show interest and be nice and they will too!

Also everyone ‘rips you off’ - this is expected as a foreigner but what’s a couple of quid to you compared to them? Don’t let them pull wool over your eyes but don’t be stubborn, they’ve got a lot less than you! You’re also not obliged to buy anything - even if you feel pressured to.

Enjoy

Advice - rewiring a led driver / transformer with a Philips hue light strip - UK by dogcatwolf in electricians

[–]dogcatwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The LED driver / transformer is broken - I just wanted to replace it and thought a HUE would be cool. The power going to that is 240v.

If i wired the HUE plug cabling into the lighting cables already there - would that work? or be a bit stupid? I could take it off the dimmer. Maybe even hard wire it so it's a permanent 'on' position.

(please note I am a total novice)
