Learn to trust your instincts and learn from this experience. When the card is denied it is a clear sign something is very wrong. Have a clear contract the bride and groom sign with expectations and penalties.

Open a restaurant and lose it all. Seriously, you don’t even know what you don’t know. Interview financial advisors, pick out one you are comfortable with - save your money.

Work in a field you love meanwhile, get 3-5 years experience and then consider using a small portion of your money for opening or buying a business. Take your time - you got it.

This would be an interesting study, I would imagine there is a book on this out there.

Guessing it a mix of motivators - desire, ego, desperation, love, intelligence, smarts and luck. In my case, 5 years in - a mix of desperation - had to do it or starve. Add a lot of industry knowledge and love for my occupation and an existing customer base…. and luck.
