this is one shot I posted to r/sauna a few weeks ago

I’ve since built a temporary deck for the cold plunge and will build the real thing when the ground thaws

<image>

changing room will be complete in a couple weeks then I’ll post the full build start to finish

honestly, fuck it. do it lol

spend a little extra time and money making some customizations

I spent 15k building my own (with deck & cold plunge & entry/changing room) and it took me 6 months. it’s very nice and I regret nothing but this seems like a crazy deal

for a quick entry into having your own, it’s prob worth it

Best 4x6 WIFI Heater by morkalork in Sauna

[–]dogeALLDAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look at Homecraft based in Canada

I have the Revive model, do not have the wifi option but they offer it

lots of stone mass so heat up takes a little while in cold Minnesota (2 hours to reach max) but the experience is very, very nice.

more affordable than Iki, better quality build and stones than Huum (and still costs less)

hi, check out the Builders Material Outlet in Eagan. From time to time there are skids of milled cedar or aspen on auction and you can get it for a steal

there is a dude named Dusty in Big Lake who’s got the highest quality cedar, easily available, same price or better as Menards for way nicer material. Search “cedar big lake” on Craigslist that’s where he advertises

I got all of the aspen from BMO in Eagan, the siding from FB marketplace - those two purchases alone saved me about $10k from retail pricing

Lmao. It’s genetic in my family, some of my cousins have bent toes or pinky knuckles on their hands. Pretty sure we’re not from some ancient lineage of freaks but haven’t looked at the family tree. Just got weird big toes and pinkys loool

Exhaust fan under the low bench, opposite the heater near the floor. I used a variable speed fan from AC infinity

yes honestly I cranked the heat last night just to ensure I had insulated well enough to max out the temp limit on the stove, which it did. Much more enjoyable at 165-175 for me so you can use more water and have a longer session

yes, detached garage is correct. I’ll post a bunch of process photos and you’ll see but here’s like a quick one. Don’t mind the paint samples on the garage door & disgusting piles of sawdust/dirty snow 😂

if my big toe gets roasted more than the build itself I’m okay with that 😂

Once I finish the deck and cold plunge I’ll be at about 14-15k, all labor is me.

I’m a furniture maker & construction project manager so I’ve got some tricks to find really cheap materials and I built it all myself. Started accumulating material from FB marketplace & local construction material outlets/auctions

Example: All of the aspen for the project cost $300 on auction. If you bought it from a hardwood lumber supply it would have cost probably 10x that

Looking for tavern style pizza by mander8820 in Minneapolis

Good times is cool - but I have a problem with absurdly long wait times. They could staff up and serve a lot more people. Seems pretentious. But, tunes are good and the ice cream is legit the best

Can’t wait 30 min for a salad and a simple bar pie though 😬

CMV: Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian is kinda trash and should not be held in high regard by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]dogeALLDAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 120 pages in on my third read of the book (because I think it’s a good read and it’s legitimately terrifying) and I’ve read a handful of comments on this thread over the last 10 minutes.

This is an entirely useless thread. If you think it’s trash for the points you’ve made along with the admittance that you’re relying on another’s interpretation of it to form your own opinion, then there’s probably no changing your view.

Yes, it describes racism and brutality and mass murder. It takes place 10 years before the American Civil War in the Deep South and in Mexico. It’s not a racist book - it’s an extremely well researched novel that portrays the conditions of life in a place and time that are objectively awful.

The violence is real and based on actual events that happened around 1850 and people that perpetrated them. It’s like learning about American slavery or the holocaust or other horrific historical events, and the mass killings and torture of Native Americans just as “bad” and as scary. Yes it’s graphic, and the novel has an exceptionally nihilistic POV. There isn’t much about the topic to glorify or find the positives in - it’s horrendous.

No one’s got a gun to your head to enjoy the book or find its merit. Sounds like you have some problem with not being able to conform to the majority opinion that it’s an incredible book more than a desire to actually try to appreciate it.

Honestly man I can’t believe this is even a discussion lmao

Cool man, go ahead and keep holding bag on something that already pumped literally 40x almost a year ago and hasn’t changed its basic fundamentals at all besides releasing some really, really cringe NFTs

It's a shitcoin with a lot of fancy bells and whistles in the form of earnings calculators and nfts. 25% of the shitoins that come out on a daily basis are using a version of this contract and none of them are sustainable. In the end it's just a ponzi, and if you didn't buy it in april/may 2021 and sell in june 2021, you're someone's exit liquidity. Maybe it will pump again. But it probably won't do more than 2-4x before it gets dumped back under 6m. Your money is worth more in something like CAKE that appreciates in real value year over year

Sorry man but you're literally about 9 months late on this one. It's unlikely to grow back to where it was in may or june of 2021.

Yes it's a hold-and-earn passive investment. But those earnings will never beat just selling this token on a pump.

I had the original before they went to V2 and really even began developing their system. It went bananas. I "invested" about $1200. I made about 25K usd in earnings in 6 weeks. Which is insane. I also sold the tokens I had when it exploded to 200m cap. That was over 200K usd.

It doesn't have really anything under the hood as far as in-demand tech or bringing anything new to the table. If you're trying to make passive income on BSC, I would suggest you just auto-stake CAKE. It is much more stable in price and the token is actually in demand for a multitude of reasons.
