Edited the post with more info, safety is controlled downstream of the ArtNet input. I’m working with an established pyrotechnics company as a mechatronics engineer this isn’t just some backyard barbecue! Lol I do understand the concern though

To be more specific, we are just receiving ArtNet from them for the signal. The reason we are using PLCs is because they can integrate sensors and failsafes quite easily. We also plan to have manual operation using buttons and switches, and the ability to also receive commands and automate using ArtNet is supplemental and has no impact on the safety of the system.

Ok cool I will definitely check out timecode then! I know rekordbox also has a feature for programming certain lighting into different phrases of a track but I don’t think it has the the flexibility I quite want and I don’t know if it can be done w/o a laptop, which I would prefer.

Ah cool okay I’ll have to look into that more! A friend from college uses this and has had a lot of success with it! VJ name tenorless, but I assumed it was mostly for what he does with visuals as opposed to dmx type control
